Great job ProwlerDriver. I don't think I could ever get my engine bay that clean. By the way, I was a "Prowler fixer" for a few years.

I just saw this thread from a link in his other one.

Just wanted to give my :cheers:to your work!

You've motivated me to get off my duff and start doing something with all the parts I've amassed for my 62:clap:

That engine bay is phenominal.

I saw that you're headed out for a while.

Stay safe wherever it is you're going:beer::beer:

How do you like your headers? any issues with leaks? any noticable performance gains with the headers and the Weber?

Now if we can only get you out to Walker Valley with us. Time to put that thing to good use.

Tony

If i can stop working on it enough to use it! Ive been so busy with work, i literally have half a garage of parts im waiting to install! Just got my roof top tent on Saturday, so i need to mount that.... never ends. Believe me, i would be out there if i could!

Update!

Alright, got off the aircraft carrier and got some work done!
Was sick of not having tunes, and after my jeep I cant do the excess treble of 5.25"s so put some 6.5"s in the doors. Took a jigsaw and cut the spacer shown out of .5" MDF, then secured the speaker to the sheet metal with long screws. Wanted simple, classic looking speakers, not the crazy looking xplods or anything. So i picked up these Fosgates. They sound awesome. Now I just need to get the door panel, cut up and back on...

Here is the jensen heavy duty deck powering them, this thing is very simple and fits right in the cruiser.

Next i moved on to the cargo area which i have been putting off forever. I seriously think i bought the wagongear tailgate cover over a year ago. So got the fixed plastic sides in and the tailgate cover all done....
Thanks for the products Kevin! I will be writing you soon regarding door panels...
Finally!!!!! :p :clap::clap::clap:

(did you install the tailgate backwards on purpose though?)

 If it works, it works!
If you turn it around it will fit better in the body line recess though.
You can see where it doesn't match on the back corners, and I'm sure the front corners are being held up in the air a bit, should fit better the other way around, and I would think you ran into a little bit of a clearance problem with the two corner holes closest to you?
If you switch it around keep in mind that the hardware is just 18-8 stainless, prone to galling, I can get about 4 install/uninstall cycles out of a set, but if you have a heavy hand and cranked them down, some might stick.
Be sure to use some anti-seize on the threads in the next installation.
Let me know if any of the bolts stick and I'll mail you another hardware pack.

Alright got my intake system done. The open air cleaner above the headers just didnt sit right with me, i figured there was a way to get better colder air. Its an old diesel/non usa system as some other members are running. I ordered them from sor, and they came in good condition, but to fit in with the rest of the engine bay they were immediately dropped of at the powder coaters :D

anyways i loved how it turned out. Looks awesome and runs smooth.

Been gone so much with work i forgot to post some other updates! So the engine was last winter, this winter was the dash. I took the entire thing apart and started from scratch.

IMG_0396.jpg

I got rid of the non working a/c system and installed the factory parts for the non a/c rigs. (big tube in bottom right)

Put a new heater core in and had it brazed to the heater pipes to prevent any leaks.

I cleaned up all the wiring, took the sound deadener pad out, replaced all the nasty foam gaskets with new and replaced all fasteners like i did in the engine bay. Replacing the foam and cleaning all the hvac cables and ducts made a huge difference. everything looks and works like new now.

next winter it will go over the underside with a fine tooth comb and then I will literally have taken the whole thing apart and made it new again
