While my LX died far from any trail, but at least it died on a mountain in a fitting place. The steep inclines of the Seattle metro were too much for the small cylinder #6 head gasket and it finally gave out at nearly a quarter of a million miles. After iterative gains on the weekends over a few years, I had made it as far as pulling the block. But then it went from bad to worse. Last November the area was hit by a Bomb Cyclone that sent shrapnel through the garage wall, further damaging the body.

With its age and length of repairs growing the longer it sits, I've decided its time. I have owned it 15 of it's 28 years, and 130k of the 230k miles. It's got a million memories and my favorite truck to date. I've got my heart set on a new LC or GX someday, so it won't be long.

What I don't know is how best to get rid of it? Unfortunately I don't have time to part it, but also know its not worth much in it's pile form. I'm mainly interested in finding a home with an owner or shop that would use it for parts or restoration or plaything. I looked through the classifieds for some hints on a reasonable price but most were in great condition and the parts section mostly had "message me". Any tips are appreciated.

Most you will get is 2k. Just list it in classifieds on marketplace or on mud. As far as a new land cruiser or gx, they are both on the 4runner chassis. In other words they are a 4runner with a different label. So you can buy any new or older 4runner and its a "new landcruiser." The actual 300 series land cruiser is the Sequoia or Lx now.

I'm curious about the shrapnel that was shot through your garage. 😲 Have a pic of the body damage? Sell it for cheap, someone will want the parts

I’ll happily part it out and rebuild the engine! The market is terrible for 80 series in the PNW right now, over 20 for sale in my area alone.

Give the engine to @Fj80orego so i can purchase it once he rebuilds them.😎
