wooohoooo!!!!! i have updates. long before the death of the nuclearmarshmallow, i thought it would be really cool to have a coil sprung fzj55. i love the way the 80s ride, but i don't like the looks, and i think the fzj might be a decent engine under a lighter body.

so, when the marshmallow lost rings, i pulled the engine, bored it and stuck it in fat bastard. that left fat bastards motor and what was left of the marshmallow including a really crappy rusted frame with lots of broken bolts. while spending a thanksgiving dinner with @Texican and his better half and her sister and husband, i mentioned my plight and he said he had a nice rust free frame on the farm. after lots of prodding by him, i made the 13 hour trek to texass, hung out with old friends again, and eventually, after spending a lot of time sitting in chairs in the barn sending rude selfies to friends and saying "we should probably go load that frame" and yet not doing a damn thing, we did motivate and i made the trek home

last weekend, since i don't have a tractor, i wrapped a couple straps around the frame and yanked it off the trailer. got it righted, up on stands and drug the remains of the marshmallow out onto the driveway. then it snowed.

yes, that is a bugger weld. we found out on the trail that the flanged head of the control arm would fit through the egged out hole, so jumped a couple batteries and welded the hole up a bit.

glad to be getting rid of this

this weekend, the frame swap went full bore. hoping by tomorrow to be ready to cut up the marshmallows frame and haul it to scrap soon. i rattle canned the frame to cover up the surface rust that accumulated while it sat in the sun and dirt and started swapping parts. then i realized i can't find all the bolts for the suspension or the plates for the rear shocks, so now i'm making a very late breakfast and updating this thread :)

yes. that will be down the road. right now, i've decided to get the old frame out of here, get the pig body resting on the frame and get rid of the pig frame which will free a space in the driveway to get the 45 up and running. then i'll build a "lift" for the body to fit on so i can figure everything out and begin chopping the frame.

i still have to find my "somewhere in the garage in a safe place" left rear shock mount, order a few bolts/nuts that are mia, and get the engine dug out of the garage and into the frame, but for now, project frame swap is officially done. sooooo freaking nice to work on a clean frame. i'll get the pig body off it's frame and resting on blocks on this one and it will go between the house and garage for at least this year while i concentrate on the 45...then will come the figuring out the shortening of the frame and body mounting, etc.

Ige...you need more Toyotas. I assume the lawnmower has the appropriate emblem somewhere on it!
