Yeah that's one of those trails that gets worse and worse every year. I'm betting with in the next couple of years a trail club is going to take it upon them selfs to tame out the water fall and the boulder that follows it.

I thought I had the machine to do it but I was humbled. Really sucked as we were so close to CK at that point and had to turn around. Made for a really long day.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some tips and advice. I'm Planning a Lake Tahoe trip and I'd like to at least make it to Beer Tree on the Rubicon Trail. So far all I have is a high clearance bumper with sliders and a winch. I have a CDL on 33's. with AHC as well. Has anyone with a similar rig made it past the gate keeper unscathed? I'd rank myself at an intermediate skill level with a hand full of level 3-4 trails/obstacles under my belt. It will be a solo trip which I know is not ideal. I'd be content in taking a "poser" picture in front of the Rubicon sign and calling it day at Loom Lake but I think I would always have that "what if" on the 8hr drive back home. Can I avoid underbody and body damage on the gate keeper? Thank..

This thread was started 20 years ago, during the second to last model year of the 100 series. I’m sure that some of the children of the original owners are now enjoying their parent’s Land Cruisers at this point (mine are) — and so it continues. Long live the 100. (Deep Thoughts)
