The jalapodo build
Well anyways I'm 17 and wanted to have a reliable daily driver and a trail rig I can have lots of fun with. I live in Houston(lots of mud) so Rock Crawling is rare but that's the type of rig I'm aiming for because I'm very inspired by everyone's builds. I waited a year trying to find deals on toyota trucks and none came up so some guy called me up saying he has an 80 4x4 Pickup with the windshield not glued and no rust so I rush over there and this is what I come to.
I swear this is the best I could find, the guy said the motor was good. I got it home, stripped the interior and Carpet and damn, I have a mexican stop sign as a floorboard, I pop the hood and it's filled witht a bunch of Mexican half ass ****. At this point I'm starting to regret, but Hey at least the frame was solid. I took out the Bed because it had a 3 foot rust hole in the middle of it, Sandblasted the middle to back part of the frame and coated it with POR 15, shortened the frame, painted the rear axle. I cleaned the starter contacts in the ignition because it wouldn't start and it started but the Carb was totally ****ed. So i rebuilt ti and the motor runs great and doesn't have a single leak. Wow something good for a change. It overheats so I changed the thermostat and instant fix. I had just recently got some 31' all terrains with some nice looking rims(I needed something to hold the truck up, it doesn't even have hald the wheels holding air. I have cut the flares, welded up the new floorboards, and welded in new sheet metal on the body. Right now it's being painted by me so pics are to come soon.
Future plans are,
-36" iroks or mud terrains
-Aussie lockers front and rear
-Rears up front or Yj Springs
-Chevys out Back
-square tubing bed
-Exocage
-5.71 gears
Am I on the right track here
