2" spacers look pretty mean and helped clear my frame in the rear perfectly.

Just a little insurance.

Got the 1" stretch in via plates, might redrill the plates for another 1/2" or probably end up going and chop a bit of the front sheet metal by the body mount of. It's minor rubbing but it's still there and I for one hate it. Got stuck in a bad ditch and fried my starter, Water 2" away from carb but started right up and ran fine. So far I'm impressed about it Carb did not even give me s*** on steep angles, but I got to get in a rear Aussie soon. Funds are very slow.

Sry not good angle to show stretch.

Out back 36x12.5 TSL SX
Front 36x12.5 TSL Bias Ply
SX's seem a bit wider but are 40 bucks more each, center tread is exact same but sx's have some killer walls.

Had to finish up the bed to make it look decent so I started.

Located my battery out to the rear for weight distribution and the fact the factory one has a 1 ft. hole. Also It's my attempt at mounting a huge toolbox into a mini truck. I love the room

Covered it with my favorite stuff. HERCULINER, rolled it this time due to I didn't feel like making a mess with spraying like usual. Thinking of a rear swingout in back and boat, or bucket seats in the back. I think it's a decent simple and functional bed.

Nice truck

I like it. Looks like you're hard work has paid off. I had an 81 a couple years ago I parted out and after seeing yours I wish I had kept it and got rid of the bed and made a buggy out of it.
Good job man, enjoy.

Thanks for the compliments but it is a electrical nightmare right now. Nothing works except the ignition and the wipers. Every other time I have taken it out, I have ended up being towed home which is just embarrassing. Trying to figure out the problem but I believe it's the float level that needs to be adjusted. Also I still have no title, what an Idiot I am, bought a truck without a Title.

Float problem

I don't know how readily toy parts are but I would seriously consider finding your self a fuel injection set up and ditch the carb.
I've had both toyotas with carbs and injection and injection wins hands down in my opinion.
I guess I'm lucky out here in cali, becuase I've come across a couple parts trucks over the last couple years. This year I got a 1988 4 runner with a blown head gasket, with rusty oil in the block, but it still ran and was never abused off road. I paid $100 bucks for it and sold it for $600 a week later. Pink slip and registered.
That was before I got turned onto Ih8mud, or I would've listed it on here.
Regardless of you having to be towed home every other time out, you should still be proud of that thing. It's all a learning process and you will get it all worked out and have a blast.
And if you're doing all this at age 17, man, stick with it and I'll bet we see alot of cool stuff to come from you.

I've been thinking about selling the whole thing and buying a 86-89 4runner and sas it. Fuel Injection and removable hardtop is fun. But I'm going to add seats in my bed anyways.

86-89

I believe there is a! year where you could get the straight axle with the fuel injection too. Maybe the end of 85 or begining of 86
I have a brand new trd 4x4 and I love it. My best friend has a new F.J. and that thing rocks. But there is something about the older yotas that I love.
I've had 4 so far, 2 4 runners, and 81 and 87 xtra cab, and I always feel bad after I sell them.
Toyotas are the sh%t.
I forsee me getting another older one at some point and doing something simular to what you have done, but maybe with the chevy 4.3 with full exocage.

I want the IFS because I don't trust myself to set up a steering box. Or do I I probably do, but it seems like really expensive parts with crossover steering. If I only had more Toys laying here at these Houston yards and not ripping me of I would have me an EFI system and steering done.

Toyota parts

Craigslist is a great source of parts and running projects.
I come across alot of stuff but never when I need it.
I buy and sell all kinds of cars and trucks off craigslist on a regular basis.
I would look on there for whatever you need.

I know I check craigslist for parts about 2 times a day. Just need more funds.:crybaby:

With all that extra weigh ton the back I got the Chevys almost on the overloads.( GOing to take them out. Going to try and take those things of. Man the front springs might have 300ft. lb spring rate and ride hard as hell, even though that will improve over time. They flex damn decently. I want to take a few leaves out but that would void the lifetime warranty.Just also recently made my own shackles today for the front, due to the military wrap hitting the frame. New shackles are 4.5" eye to eye.
Here's some flexy hill flex that needs extended shocks.

Jumpin on high steer as soon as I get it registered and titled.

Just trust me, I did not have anyone teach me this stuff either. I just picked it up and started doing it over and over again till I got it right. Go pick up a Lincoln Buzz Box Arc Welder, usually found 100-150 bucks on Craigslist. Get your self some flat bar stock and start practicing. Try to look up some online videos, on welding techniques and you will get it eventually. Practice makes perfect. But yeah it does help having a knowledgeable person by your side.
