Will do! I had a set of shocks for a 4" lifted 40 in a box that I threw on it and they bottomed out and broke on the first pothole I hit. tried getting away with it but no dice. Planning on doing the seats in january then the floormats and headliner in late February when my parts arrive from AU.

I have to admit I've been considering selling due to some possible upcoming business ventures/opportunites. Not planning on it but I need to run the numbers for my idea. I should be able to keep it but you never know.....

Put the new shocks on (the front two anyway) and they are GREAT! Skyjacker Hydro 7000 models. It quieted down the many rattles that made the truck insane noisy. Very comfortable ride now too. ONly cost $140 for the set including shipping off eBay

Got the undercoating done. I bought CorroisionX. took about 4 cans. Nasty s*** but this truck will definitely never rust. Very heavy, thick film that clings to everything. I can't imagine having to get this stuff off but it says mineral spirits will do it. Anyway, hit all the seams, crevices, frame rails, rear sill, etc with it and am comfortable with driving in the salt (occasionally)

Mother in law is still here for a few more days which means more curiser time coming. Gonna try to get one of the front seats in this week!

Where did you buy this stuff? I'd love to get my hands on some.

bought it from the site. Grabbed 6 cans of the heavy duty version. good stuff and non-flammable once sprayed

CorrosionX Heavy Duty

It's meant for boat trailers.

Dont get to liberal with the corrosion x. what they dont tell you is that it likes to melt in the summertime dripping off... we used it on rental jet ski engines and despite being swamped, rolled, etc, it did a good job of keeping the engines fairly corrosion free.

Updates!!!

Basically taking the whole week off and spending 90% of it on the cruiser!

Seat issue is finally solved!!

I had bought lincoln navigator leather seats cuz they were cushy but they didn't fit. Then I bought 2005 CTS seats cuz they were smaller but didn't want to do the fabrication to get them to fit.

Drove to Bridgeport CT and hopped the ferry to Long Island and grabbed this sweet set of 60/40 front seats from RJCruisers!!! Very original to the truck so I felt good about getting them. A couple small tears in the fabric but aside from that they are fantastic!!! Best part is that it only took 8 bolts to install them!

I was going to do a rear bench seat but I snagged these long jump seats from 82Cruiser on the way home. Should be a really nice set up once installed!

Need to figure out the roll cage thing next!

misc stuff

Got the speakers in! Pulled the door panels and installed some speakers. I'd like to have tunes going by the end of the week. I've only owned one other cruiser that had a working radio.

Installed the Optima battery holder that I wont at the Fall gathering this year. It's a Ruff Stuff Specialties model. Needed to do a bit of cutting and drilling but it fit snugly. Will have to pull the box out to change spark plugs but I'll worry about that in a few thousand miles. Sure beats a bungee cord!!

I have been following it. mr. sensitive boy. that thing needs an lv bench seat int he back. plus we need more pictures.

X2......

Much better seats than the GM stuff you were playing with IMO. I need a set for my 78 FJ45 - It's got no head rests and I want them like yours. :)

I don't think I've ever been accused of being sensitive.....

I will happily take your LV seat....for free! Would work well.

The only part I need is the PVC floor mat that is on the way from AU. Everything else I need I've bought or is in the works. getting fun!!

[creepy voice] I'm watching you, too.

Seriously, that V8 is shoehorned in there, isn't it. I like those vintage seats as well, they go better with the theme.

The V8 is a tight fit but it sits very level. Most ones I've seen are wedged in at odd angles. This one is very level and I think the Downey adapter is the reason. I;ve heard that they are the best as far as installing a clean and straight engine.
