I stand by my statement. I’m clinical psychologist. I intimately understand the impossible task of reliably predicting what people will do in the future, especially when there may be a vast amount of time between when a background check is performed and when the person decides to act out.

I agree and understand what you are saying.

We don't have to predict the future if there is already a documented history of bad behavior prior. Stop those, and you solve for X%.

I'm guessing you already know the stats, but the below shows them from the DOJ. 64% of mass shooters since 1966 had prior records.

As I understand it, the federal background check databases used to only look at Federal crimes as late as 2016 and not sure where they are now. One of the issues is they simply didn't "see" into county/state records due to a lot of reasons.

Per the Brady Act, federal background checks were required and my hope is the government continues to improve the process of finding the people who shouldn't get guns and denying purchases for pre-exiting reasons.

All the other "noise" around permits, county checks, permits tied to driver's license, banning certain weapons, etc. are suspect. Even the ACLU disagrees with most of the permit behaviors as it infringes on civil liberties. Also, there is little evidence, that any of these activities have "stopped" any permits being granted or any mass shootings.

ATF is watching.

Anyone have any experience with the Sig MCX Spear LT in 300 blackout or 7.62. Looking to put some rounds through one if possible

I know a guy with an mcx virtus in 300/5.56. 300 blk and 7.62 are quite different rounds. Without looking, I’d be surprised if sig made the spear in 300 blk.

Don’t they make it in their 224 Valkyrie or whatever round they made up? 277 fury or some such mess?

Anyone interested in a M1A?
I am a novice when it come to guns. I am in a situation and could get it back to NC.

Can do more pictures if required. May include some ammo.

To all that have inquired. Please bare with me as I am working with my brother-in-law on this and without a long explanation, I may have put this out here prematurely. I am here for another day and should figure where I am going with this.
Thanks
Shane

Is that s Colt SP1?

The left side of the lower receiver will be stamped Colt and SP1. Those are the first design pre-ban guns. Made up to about 1983. They have 1:12 twist barrels (for 55 grain projectiles) non-adjustable flip rear sight and no forward bolt assist. I can't see markings in the photo. If it is a Colt it is more desirable than a clone.
