Had a good day walleye fishing today, we caught 9 before 8:30am. We were trolling with bottom bouncers and it really produced, but as soon as the it got close to 9:00 the bite totally stopped. We put the boat in the water at 4:45am and we were back at the boat ramp to load up at 9am. The last few times out we had gotten skunked but being there stupid early really paid off

Thought I'd share this pic my wife took while I was in my glory yesterday evening

Beyond beautiful!

I lived in the Keys for ten years, did a lot of what we called "proactive" fishing. This is the only spear gun I have left, my all around gun. The shaft below the main spear is a .44 power head, it fires by contact, the shell is pushed into a firing pin, used like a bayonet. There is a back up spear mounted on the other side of the gun. I mounted the small PVC tube under the gun to balance the extra weight of the power head, it is air tight.

Man that is awesome! I've never spear fished before but I have 2 friends that go a lot but I don't think they have anything like that

I sold my other spear guns, 4, a few years back. I had a couple very nice high dollar Riffe guns, one wood the other aluminum, preferred the wood. Both were long guns for open water. These guns have 3 bands. I also had a shorty gun. I used that one when hunting grouper under ledges, usually in 15-30' of water, free diving.

Basically you dive straight down from the surface as soon as you hit the bottom and can see under the ledge and a fish you shoot, from an upside down position. If you don't the fish is gone. Shorty gun is also good in close coral.

Managed to get in a river float this evening with my brother in law and @jfz80 aka fishy Free. Perfect evening and the fishing was good, well at least for Jason. He caught 12 and I only managed 2.
