VERY RARE FJ25 for sale!!! FJ40

Met this guy and bought some stuff from him. Knows cruisers and is great to deal with. East apache junction

Was there stuff that was still FJ25 on it. Was it still the four speed and single speed transfer case? Seems all the rare 25 parts were gone. If your just looking a wheeler a newer 40 would be a better start. Even the springs were different than the FJ40. Making a upgrade a little more challenging with the FJ25.

Didn't look closely: 2speed maybe?

Spoke to Dan. he said it's got the 3 speed trans. As for the transfer case, there is a high and low ONLY.
For 4WD, looks like just one speed (low) and one speed for 2 wheel (high). I really don't know though. He said you're welcome to email him at digger-dan@live.com and his phone number is in the Craigslist ad. He's always picked up when I call.

I have limited knowledge of the 25's. He going to pull it out and get some more photos. He pointed out some differences, like the height of the rocker panel and the slightly shorter front fenders and hood, but really looks like a '40 to me. There is a factory tail gate on it that I really want but he said it goes with the vehicle, as a unit. Seems like there's a factory soft top on it but pretty torn up. I did not look closely at the shifters, etc. Give him a call and he'll let you know what's there. I only bought some OEM wheels from him for my brother's '40.

The FJ25 came with a four speed transmission. No syncros in first and second gear, first gear was a granny gear just over 5:4 to 1. The transfer case was in and out of four wheel drive only no low range. It was made of cast iron like the transmission. Didn't know the hood and fenders were shorter. I'll have to check that. The front bumper was different as was the mounting hardware. This made the overall vehicle a little shorter. 61 FJ40 used the same bumper setup. He is correct besides the rounded rear wheel wells the tub was shorter behind the wheel wells, equal to the top of the rear frame crossmember. If you know FJ25 you realize just not many of the hard to find parts still there. Another thread on this 25 was started in the 25 section a while back https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj25-classifieds-corner/572991-fj25-az-cl.html

yeah, like he said. . .

As I said, I've never seen one up close so i couldn't be much help. Looks like the guys that know about these were on it already. the pictures in the other thread are perfect. shows the whole rig.
Will that tailgate fit a '40?

Will that tailgate fit a '40?

Don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Some small difference in the tailgate over the years but nothing major. Those four little hole in the lower right were for the rare Toyota emblem. The footman loops were held on by screws and nuts not welded on. No license plate bracket. It was on the left rear corner of the tub. Plus the center section of tailgate was wider on the later ones.

That is a great deal but sounds like some are older model and some are newer. Great buy for trail wheels!

75 fj40 for sale in Prescott. $2700, not running but comes with xtra motor.
Looks a bit rough around the edges, but much less than $2700 and it might be worth it in parts.
Might want to take a lawn chair or milk crate to sit on, seats are extra.

94 Land Cruiser - 3200

1994 toyota landcruiser cheap

Went and looked at the green beast:
It really has 289k
No Lockers
The grill is missing a "notch" at the top about 6 inches wide and chrome is delaminating
The front bumper looks clean but is missing the driver corner - these are metal 3 piece bumpers
normal scratches and pin striping but no dents or rust
Undercarridge is undamaged
Interior is brown cloth and look WAY to clean and new to be in a 300k rig. No wear and no tears.
The vynil trim on driver door has been stapled back into place - a bit crude
It leaks oil, the underside has the oil buildup, but the front passenger wheel well has a fresh coat.
Starts and runs fine - a bit of a squeel from somewhere under there
Drives well - way more power than you would expect for the mileage
Couldnt tell if anyone had been in the Engine, trans, transfercase, difs - the engine didnt appear to have a head gasket problem, but couldnt see the back.
Transfer case looked like nobody had opened it
Difs had minor tool marks and had been at least serviced in the past but who knows when.
Exhaust looks to be in good shape.

So you might ask why did packet post up a bunch of 4runners, well I was looking for the unobtanium 4runner which is a third gen with the 3.4 engine and a manual transmission and the e-locker in the rear. So none in AZ so then I ran it through auto-trader and not a single one nationally. Guess they are really rare :poof:
