Nothing in CT is legal to wheel anymore

Just for record this was not with Yankee toys.

Sounds like you have your truck pretty much the way you want it for now.

Powerline wheeling, yeah those were the days! Getting tickets like that is painful. Wheeling the lines is pPretty much outlawed in NH as well. The powerline owners only have a right of way across everyone's private property to run their lines and maintain them. That doesn't make their access road open to anyone. Up here you are supposed to have permission from the landowner to drive on private property. Plenty still do it, usually just local kids. Then they go and have a bonfire and leave a trash pile. Gives honest wheelers a bad name. There's some property owners that would let you use their land without that permission, but that is getting to be less and less the norm due to the people who leave a mess or tear up the terrain.

We are lucky in NH to have so many thousands of miles of class VI roads to wheel our rigs. Right now most of them are closed because of mud season and won't open until late May of early June. Unfortunately, most of the Class VI's are restricted from use by quads and dirt bikes.A registered bike is OK, but not one with just an OHRV sticker. Most of the places that allow OHRV's are either very limited in scope unless you go to Northern NH where there are now over 1000 miles of ATV rails (dirt bikes not allowed). That's one reason I bought my Camp, it sits right on the trails. I can even wheel the ATV on about 100 miles of snowmobile trails up there in the winter as long as they are solid and not mushy.

I doubt things will get any better as time passes. On the other hand, the ATV owners and their clubs have made inroads on opening up trails that were once only the domain of the snowmobile clubs.

^^^^^ Yeah "for now" seems to always be short lived ...haha.

Hopefully the new ATV trails will evolve into more OHV trails in the future. Not in CT but in MA would be great. Lots of land in MA. I used to reg. my quad in MA which offered a lot of local trails in the Otis area. I stopped riding due to no places to ride in CT. The situation has myself and family looking into moving west in the future. Also to run from the cold. Seems like the outdoors is more offered to the public. Motorized vehicles are not banned like a cult like New England. Aw well. All and all if I stay here in the long run I will def own a large piece of land so I can tread hard on it and not be punished. I was able to use all of the local land growing up and had a blast. Best place to grow up. I am just hoping my son has the same oppurtunity's as I had.

talked to junkyard where i got my diesel engine today, they are taking engine back and giving my money back, they cant find replacement for it. Two of their mechanics came to my house to check the engine Monday, engine is trashed, just like i said.

Good news but are they taking it back out?

Back in the fold! 2005 V6 Sport. Cleanest one I found though the miles (145k) were a bit higher then I was looking for. In really great shape, drives smooth as silk. Literally the only one I looked at where the front crossmember (under the radiator) wasn't rusted out.

I have to replace a couple of climate control bulbs (very easy) but it's otherwise perfect. Even got 21mpg on the drive home! Color is a dark blue, a shade darker than our Prius.

No big mod plans, but you guys know how that goes.... :)

Nice Sporin. I really like the dark blue. I have the same one but metalic grey with 125k. My lady drives it. I have been thinking of selling it. You mind if I ask what you paid for it?

That's kind of a bummer. All that work.

We are replacing frames in those as well even if its just a small hole in that crossmember. Probably done close to 10 or so at work.

thepinktaco...Do you work at the dealer? If so how often you getting 04's in for bad front cats/header? I bought mine with the code. I put in new rear 02's with no luck. The truck is mint and I would love to keep it but this seems to be a big $ fix. Any info would be sweet. Hijack over. Thnx.

WHEEL IT!!!!!!!!

Eventually, but probably not any time soon. If I wanted a 'wheeler I would have bought something older and cheaper.

Good to know. There were some I looked at where I could have pulled a tow loop off with my bare hand.:censor: This one is is pretty good shape, and the rest of the frame is very, very solid.
