That's great Gary! I really need to get my hands on a gallon of your syrup this year. Def. a long winter even here in CT. Things have picked up here also. People start to get excited for projects after coming out of their winter coma. I lined up remodels until Aug/Sept. just in the last few weeks.

So I bought a harbor freight winch from a guy, so I buy the wireless remote for it and the prongs are not the same so I'm thinking that the control box is not the original . The cables coming out are all jackets together which he Nickey moused it. Problem can't find the box to go with that winch on e-bay or Amazon . Any help would be great picked winch up for $50 bucks .

Need help ending a 'discussion' with a buddy. He claims he owned an 80 with an OEM V8 in it. Which would then make it a UZJ80?

I keep saying NFW. He keeps saying YFW. Then he mumbles about special to West Africa and French Foreign Legion....blah-blah-blah....

It could have a Toyota V8 in it, but it didn't come from the factory that way. If it was a Euro-spec model, it would most likely have had a 6cyl diesel.

I can find nuthin' about any OEM V8 in 80s. But ya never know. IIRC thats why the USDM UZJ100 is IFS, can't fit solid front axle and V8 in it.

You contact harbor freight? Are you sure that you have the right wireless remote?? Have you referenced all the numbers to see whats what?

I bought the wireless remote from Harbor freight so I'm thinking that its the right one seeing there was only one model. Now I'm wondering if the control box is off some other winch . . 715251 is only number I found on the end of the winch.

FINALLY GOT A LITTLE MUD ON THE TIRES TODAY :>)

As always, I understand why you are so overwhelmed.

In the meantime, I'll just put my comments on pause so you can finish watching American Idol without interruption.

Need some transportation CT to NE PA. I bought Tom Orsini's F engine and the transmsission/transfer case from his 40. Looking to see if anyone might be able to pick this stuff up in Thomaston CT and deliver to me in Brockton Pa. I'm about 35 minutes from Rausch Creek not far off I-81. Anyone coming this way and maybe able to help can contact me shmukter@pa.metrocast.net or GSCHMAUCH@cartech.com. Thanaks in advance for any help. Gary S

I've got another 74F engine sitting in my shop if you want it.

Hey Lane how did your cut n turn come out?

It's still sitting on jack stands. Haven't gone near it! (thinking I'm not going to get much wheeling in this year)

Went wheeling today for the first time with my new setup. 529's, longs, and 37's. I was amazed. Didn't feel like I was beating on the 80. Way smoother on the rocks with a ton more control. Having beadlocks and airing down to 10 psi really was amazing too. Gripped like a geiko.
All and all a good day except the typical for wheeling in CT. I left with a $92 ticket from the DEP. CT powerlines have some amazing trails but really not allowed for some reason.

Wow bummer dude....
Glad you like your setup.

Yeah Chris. Funny thing is when the cops look at my record it's clean as could be EXCEPT multiple "trespassing" charges from quads, dirt bikes, driving on the road with snowmobiles in the snow.... CT. is not what it used to be when I was younger. Oh well. Everyone in our group got tickets. I won't be going back there again.

My setup seems to be great!! I am amped about that. Tires rub in the rear on my tubing I bent up. Wierd thing is that the pass side tire seems to be about 1" further forward than the drivers side. measured everything and its the same. I can't see bad control arm bushings allowing that much difference. Have to look into that more. It mainly rubs on that side only on the front of wheel well.
