I bought the base model PN-60, not the PN-60W with spot. That's $200 more and requires a spendy subscription. The text feature of the spot model sends, but it doesn't receive. When will is satellite communication finally become available for the masses and cheap?

I ordered a Midland hand held CB today with magnetic antenna and rechargeable battery pack. More costly than an installed system, but not if you install one in 3 different vehicles. Plus you have communication outside the vehicle. Looks cool to me.

Why do all the former YT presidents disappear? I've been think of all the past presidents that are no longer around. Is it they get so burnt out? They need to leave? I would think they would still want to be here being cruiserheads and all.

He was at the last VT pub night!

It probably is burnout. I've headed up a couple orgs in the past and when you are done in an administrative role you are done, period. I have noted also here on MUD that there is less chatter from some of the other previously more vocal members who were involved with the club on an administrative basis. Part of that is probably that there's a comoraderie built up amongst those folks and then become less vocal with a new administration, unlike the idiots in Washington. However, the new administration in YT still needs their input when it comes to club matters.

I've been on the waiting list to get into Cruise Moab 2011 since roughly mid-march and they recently invited me in. Whoopee! I made all the reservations today for the event plus dog friendly accommodations.

I'm leaving Tuesday, the 26th, since I'm scheduled to do a post card show in Quincy, Ill on Fri/Sat. Saint Pamela is flying out Sat to KC where I will pick her up after the show. Current itinerary is KC to Mt Rushmore across the plains and mostly off the Interstate. Yellowstone next for a couple days and then to Moab for 3 nights. Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, etc after that. I hope to get out onto some desert 2 tracks and flex out my new suspension. Southern route coming home and back on the 5/15. Little dog, St P. and me, should be fun. :steer:

I'm here, just been busy with work this winter.

There's definitely a burn-out factor though. After handing things off to the new crew I just wanted to take a break for a while. I'm starting to get excited for the wheeling season though... just need to make time for it.

The prior exec board made a smooth hand off and have been very involved behind the scenes.

Me too. Getting the FJ40 and HJ45 out of Winter storage next weekend. Weather still not ideal yet.....but close.

Ready for work to slow down also. Second day in a row working under the reactor vessel. Been working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week for the last 4 weeks with three more to go.

Pig roaster? What's it run on? What about the big green egg?

the square section is an offset fire box that takes 17" split logs. Depending on how you set it up it will either smoke, BBQ or grill.

But you can use charcoal also if you like. Pretty versatile.

YUMMM, MEAT!!!

I can't wait to belly up to the smoked meats bar at the Spring Meeting. I'm sure I can bring back some possum. prairie dog, armadillo, etc from our western trip if anyone wants exotic meats. I'm thinkin a pig roast at SM or FG would be nice. Let's think about that.

YT is a vibrant club due to the effort and time invested by members such as yourself and others.
