Good Morning All. I am personally new to the LC family but I've had LC's in my family for the past 13 years. I recently purchased a family owned 97 CE FZJ80 from my sister which has 220k miles on it. It has never seen mud, other than 3 weeks on a beach about 9 yrs ago. I'm in NH and itching to get out and meet other mudders.

I have the opportunity to get some much needed wheel spacers for my fj40 really cheap from a friend, Problem is that they are hub centric, I have access to a machine shop and can machine down the lip to fit around the hub, So my question is Is this acceptable/safe/a good/bad idea?
I think that they are cheap enough from trail gear and the like that it would cost you more in machine shop charges?

I would go for it, after your done with the machine work, throw the tires on and make sure they are balanced well. Then make sure there aren't and shimmy's, or shakes. Keep an eye on the lug nuts for a while too.
1.5" spacers, no charge at the machine shop. Just wasn't sure if doing this would make it unsafe.
I might have some used spacers in a box you can have. they might be 2 inch ones though. If I have them they are yours for a 6 pack

girl in the right lane taking a left turn + me in the left lane= one very pissed off Johnny. Got hit in my new/used car today. I'm fine and the car had minor damage but would have been an airbag event if the oncoming lane wasn't empty. Muh.
