Thanks for the leads. Both look like they have the globe, so I will decide today...after I make sure of what other parts I may need!:)

If you go through Lonestarlantern on eBay, ask him if he's got the new top-secret logo-less 200 globes in yet.

He was going to try and get the "Made in China" logos removed from a case of globes.

Nice guy.

502 Giveaway---Last call

Last call for the 502 giveaway. I have about 10 entries including one forum member begging for 3 chances on a technicality. We'll see. There have even been international entries. The stove itself is on it's way to the East----East Coast Coleman Customs for the spa treatment and custom Toyota themed paint. It will retain all of it's stove goodness.

I'll put all the names in a hat and have some fair way to pick one---On Saturday. You can be assured that if you entered, you got a fair and equal chance at getting the stove. If you win the stove please post up a pic of FJ60Cam's excellent work, and a pic of it being used on some future trip.

Send me a PM to get on the list, and tell me where you plan to use it.

Pm sent

So I got ANOTHER 502 in the mail today...

Well $&@#. Welcome to Memphis. Some thieves already stripped it for parts, and left it sitting on a block.

Picked up this Quadrant lantern at the goodwill store for $5.00. Still had all the little tools and extra mantles in the storage well. Very heavy, but will run on regular, unleade, Coleman fuel, etc.

Cool Military lantern. $5 is a great price. Who made that one, and what year?

Military lanterns run very well but are very different from the usual Coleman thing.

The most important thing to know they run at low pressure. Pump 10 times, light, once it settles in, pump it up 10-20 more times.

I find them too loud to really use camping, but they are very efficient and will burn a really long time on 1 fill-up.

Did a brief search and those "rosebud" type canisters are obsolete. I will see if the valve assembly is able to be broken down so that I can adapt a new fitting with threads. If not, then I've got a clean antique for sale.

The bottom of my lantern says "Coleman" 1958.

There were about 8 different manufactures of the Military lanterns depending on the year. All were made to the same spec. Coleman's have a rep of being the best of those, but all are good. Coleman had the military contract '58-'59. That list is around somewhere.

Post some pics of it running. They are very loud as you will see.

I think Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters has the same stove or one a lot like it , he post as cruiseroutfit on this board, you might contact him.

Another thought is to pick up a newer propane stove and swap the burners etc.
