Well... For one, you don't see this on the 100. And secondly, Toyota redesigned the defective part. So this isn't a 'normal wear' type of issue. Most radiators as well cooling components are only good for 100k miles. The problem is not knowing the engine is overheating at the time and ruining the block.
is there such a thing in the 200 world?by a non-astute operator.
Not mentioning it is one thing, but to couch your expertise on being a Toyota master mechanic for so long and claim to have never seen one fail?To be fair, there's someone on this very forum who was on the OJ podcast and and I don't recall the radiator failure being mentioned there either.
This thread left rational 15 pages ago…. We’re doing head gaskets at 100k now, catch up already. Another 10 pages and motor swaps will be thrown into the mix.Are you saying to replace your radiator, water pump, lines, etc as PM at 100k?

From memory, it's toward the end of the podcast and the discussion was pretty explict and to the effect of 'there are no major issues [with the 200] that you have to do on all of the trucks'. I remember it surprising me when I heard it.Not mentioning it is one thing, but to couch your expertise on being a Toyota master mechanic for so long and claim to have never seen one fail?
I don't do 5k oil changes. This thread left rational 15 pages ago…. We’re doing head gaskets at 100k now, catch up already. Another 10 pages and motor swaps will be thrown into the mix.

I do just to stay informedYeah that would definitely be worse. I mean, technically late 2018+ is out of the woods on this but who only works on - and reads here about - those?
nope, then someone will start again tomorrow....The moderator would do us all a favor by closing this thread
why do LX owners ALWAYS have to show us up?I don't do 5k oil changes.
I do 5k engine changes.
Fresh 3UR every 5k. Under my ownership, my LX is on its 9th engine. I save a bit of cash swapping starter and alternator only every other engine change. But that alone makes me nervous. You can never really be too safe.
If you're just changing the oil, do you really even own a Land Cruiser?
yup as i say those are the best.. point proven over and overtechnically late 2018+ is out of the woods on this but who only works on
