Waiting on family to decide if they are going out of town for the long weekend.

Sounds good, we are camping at the Bike Farm and temps are supposed to be in the mid 20's when we wake up so we might end up doing a shorter loop Sunday morning.

Let me know time and meeting place for Sunday. I brought my bike up here.

You camping on site Andrew?

So it looks like I'll be riding black mountain, buckwheat knob and Bennett gap tomorrow. Shooting to be at the ranger station off 276 around 11. I need it to warn up a little.

I rode DuPont and had to check out. Headed back east.

Headed to 286 last Thursday for a night ride and Legend Park in Clayton the Thursday before that. Group at work is trying to keep the momentum and do a weekly ride somewhere. I'm not seeing any mojo on anyone's bikes though...

286 is good to go. Rode there two Saturday’s ago. Fast and fun.

I have a race at the WWC on Sunday and thinking about headed to Uwharrie Saturday if anyone is interested?

Picked up this balance bike for little man on Craigslist for $20 bucks. It got a Yeti treatment. Now he just needs to grow another 3" so his feet touch the ground.

I wish I was riding Rocky Road, 286, and Uwharrie like I used to :(

I love mountain biking but I just can't get away from work.

Get out there (however I completely understand as I took around 15 years off).

286 is back up to full tilt and awesome as ever.

Would like to go Saturday but bike is in the shop. Cranks are lose and I can not figure out how to get them tight and it would not shift into the lowest gear while in Dupount.

The race looks fun. How do you find these type races? I would have signed up.

Do you use UTM or lat / long? I our 8 hour in Umstead on bikes we used UTM and compass only. It was crazy. We covered 38 miles that day.

Google Maps | UTM Coordinates

Over the last couple years there you just kind of find organizations that put on races. The ones are follow regularly are the White Water Center, Racing in the Woods, Pisgah Productions, Blue Ridge Adventures, Green River Games, and Charlotte Winter Short Track Racing.

This is the first time I have done this one, but I would think it will be lat/long. I know the trails pretty well so I am hoping that if I can get in the vicinity, I will figure it out.

There is one in January called The Whole Enchilada, its a race at the white water center that covers the entire trail system, 45+ miles. The have a shorter one call The Half Enchilada, I think I am going to sign up for that. The Whole Enchilada - U.S. National Whitewater Center

Picked up this Nashbar touring rig a few months ago. Stripped it down to bare aluminum, and painted back olive green. Plan is to do a flat bar city/gravel/cyclo bike

If you are around Raleigh and want to ride 286, let me know. I went yesterday and it better than it has ever been. I did 11 miles of single track and did not hit it all.
