I still have enough materials to make about 150 of my triple locked IPA Also have enough for about 6 gallons of a barrel aged stout recipe a friend and I made but never got around to actually making..... I just need to get new equipment now.... DOH!!

I think this group might be slipping. I had to go half way down page 2 to find the Beer Thread.

Anyway, the VT connection came through with some treats from The Alchemist.

This 1st one is a heavily hopped imperial. Good, but one was enough. The hops drowned out much of the flavor is ordinarily look for in an imperial.

The next one I really like. I'd had this last summer, but then you could only get it in restaraunts. Now that the Alchemist has opened their Stowe brewery, you can buy cases at the source. This is nicely complex IPA with a well balanced floral and citrusy notes. If you've had a Heady Topper, it's quite similar, but more drinkable. At 7%, I wouldn't call it a session beer, but I could see myself putting a lot of these away.

Not much time to really explore but hit a few breweries this week around Portland. So far mostly for a quick bite and flight sampler

Ninkasi- tricerahops was favorite
Sky high- shiloh ipa favorite
Bridgeport- kingpin double red
Rogue- wasted purple sea star pale and brutal were both new and delicious. As well as the single malt whiskey they brew in the spirits lab.

Went to Foothills Brewpub over the weekend - no pics but had the Hoppyum IPA, Eureka IPA, and the Barrel Aged People's Porter - which was great, but definitely heavy and took a little extra bit of time to finish. It is one of the best 'barrel aged' beers I have had.

In portland?
I haven't been there on a brewery tour yet but i'm due for one. But just from the beers i've had from these breweries i'd suggest 10 barrels, Deschutes, Burnside, the commons, Baerlic

should have been the Charlotte Brewery..... they really screwed up there ;)

Had the same one a few days back..... their unfiltered ones are awesome

I have quite a few that I need to post up... i've been on a barrel aged tear lately...... may have dropped 2 bills on some for the beer cave.... still debating about buying the BCBS Rare that a friend offered me

So much for all $ going to the housing fund lol

really most of them are going to be xmas gifts anyway. Wish we could keep them all. But buying good beer for friends and family for xmas is genius.... when you give it to them they normally crack it open and share it with you.... Great Success

And the best part is most of them are for people at the office and I can expense most of it out as I am in charge of setting up the office party and getting "stocking" stuffers for employees and gifts for all their children. Luckily most people I work with like good beer, know I know beer, and put that on their letters to Santa

Only downside is I have to play santa. DOH!!!

So there will be pics of me in a santa costume on facebook soon enough.

So a few from this last weekend at my new local beer store.

Had a big bourbon aged event (which is where I bought most of the work party gifts from)

They had about 40 different ones on tap.

(pics aren't mine but since they were all on tap a I need to find pics of the logos to display)

Had all the current Fremont KDS (Kentucky Dark Stars)

Bourbon, Bourbon Coffee, Bourbon Spics

Abraxas Barrel Aged Stout

All of this years varients of the BCBS except of course for the blue one pictured, (Proprietors is only available in Chicago)
bcbs%20long.jpg

Those are the ones I chose to try with my tasters membership..... didn't want to spend a fortune on all the rest.

I'll be going back next weekend to enter into the loto to win a BCBS 2015 rare bottle so fingers crossed.

I do want this so bad as I passed on the bottle a friend was going to sell me, just too much to spend right now ;)

I couldn't help it. I just had to bite.

Tastes like someone spilled a little cream soda in your beer. Not bad, but I'll probably be good with the one 6 pack.

So somehow I managed to win the raffle and now get to check a huge one off the beer bucket list.... or at least I will because this thing is being aged for a long time. 2015 Bourbon County Brand Stout Rare...... Aged in 35 year old heavenly hill bourbon barrels.

Also Scored a bottle of the coffee variant. All that money I spent there on the office party got me on their mailing list for the raffle.

So Over $100 of beer for free.... can't beat that.
