Do you know where theyre placing the blowoff valve? Is there an electric option to be driven by a unichip or similar. Did they give you a suggested size for the blowoff valve. Did they give you any info on the turbine and compressor wheel? Is the turbo and manifold match ported?

Diesels don't need blowoff valves.

To be honest I don't have all the facts and the turbo hasn't been released. In the next couple of weeks we should have all the details.

I think he may be referring to a recirc valve on the compressor housing that is essentially a BOV. Borg Warner has this and I believe I remember seeing an eclipse turbo that had one. If my understanding is correct it increases the surge margin on the turbo without have the typical surge slots in the compressor cover.

Don't have any pics of the Toyota HD version but this is their setup for the TD42 which I'm sure will be very similar.

That’s a slick looking manifold. Maybe I should have waited 😂
Your setup is sick!! I was going to go your route but this new setup came up and it's pretty killer. I might need your help in tuning if your up for it. The manifold is a newer style. The old one is cool but definitely like this one more. It's a bit cheaper too.

Sh*t I’m still trying to figure out how to tune this big hole of a wastegate on mine 😂 she’s singing though!

Seems Eclipse have taken quite a few orders for the new Toyota/Nissan twin volute turbo. They aren't willing to give any info the turbo specifications but willing to take your cash. Sounds to me like a lucky dip. I have a list of products I'm fitting to my 1HD FTE engine. One of them is a new turbo package. In the absence of specs you have to go with a product that has a good track record that thousands of people have bought and used, that being the Gturbo, don't you? Anyway, if the lead times are as bad as KiwiDingo says, probably best to go with Gturbo and not wait for the next 6 months. Just how many people here have fitted an Eclipse turbo, besides KiwiDingo, probably not many.

Does anyone have any experience with using the Eclipse split manifold on Gturbo? Ideally I should use the new fangled twin volute Eclipse turbo but a already have the GTurbo Red Wheel

Will be good to go. The split manifold has slightly better efficiency over the stock manifold and will bolt straight up.

It'll still work good with increased benefits over the factory manifold. I've run their split pulse manifold with many single volute/scroll turbos and they still work great. It generally improves more down low in the off boost torque and reduces the spool time but once your at full boost the effects aren't as great and hardly noticeable. If you're running a small turbo that already spools quickly the benifits won't feel as great as if you were running a larger turbo from what I have found in my testing

To keep the twinscroll theme going… I started making a manifold for my 13bt a while back after buying a twinscroll td04hla. That got put on hold for a bit, but I’m now back into it.

The manifold is done bar a little clean up work, and finding someone with a linisher or mill to get the flanges a bit flatter. Will have to do a new oil drain and dump pipe, and deal with a snapped manifold stud, but hopefully will be driving the new setup in a few weeks.

I’m going to be using the td04hla turbine housing with my he221w, so I should be able to get a really good idea of how much difference the twinscroll makes with minimal other variables. I had my truck on the dyno at the start of the year and haven’t changed my fueling or anything since, so if I can find somewhere to dyno it again I should get some interesting data to compare.

Td04hla and he221w comparability…

post deleted as the td04hla turbine wheel is about 3mm bigger diameter than the he221w… should have been the first thing I checked…

What's the HLA from? I haven't seen that one before.
