Yeah, I think this one might show it better.

Basically just took a IWB holster and flipped the belt clips onto the inside to make it an OWB setup, then drilled different holes for the belt clips to attach through the holster, to help level it out (relatively speaking) and sit at the right depth on the seat.

The holster came with simple bent friction belt clips and I just found a spot free of physical obstructions and shoved the belt clips on and down behind the front seat cover.

No real complaints, just think there’s potentially a better solution. Could probably draw a little more fluid from a different spot, be less in sight when vehicle is parked (even though it’s empty) and such. Left leg gets in the way of the spare mag a bit.

Thanks!

I like the idea of my EDC being off my body, but I can’t imagine a quicker draw than from appendix, while also being safe. They key to comfort is the belt, and I don’t even notice my G43 when I’m wearing my Nexbelt EDC supreme appendix. Press a button through your shirt, release the tension, sit down. Once your out of your car, feed the belt back to desired tension. Supreme Appendix Black 38mm - https://www.nexbelt.com/collections/edc-belts/products/supreme-appendix-black-38mm

Those magnets are tempting but a crash and airbags going off could end horribly.

We could definitely clutter up Tex’s thread with vehicle/general carry discussion. Is mud and the 150 forum a place we could maybe have an allowably thread on that info? I’d be down for that if so, always something to share and something to learn.

I've carried a G43 in an appendix holster since 2014, I've decided to go back to a G19 and I'll likely rotate in a Staccato 2011 C2 DPO as well. I can't stand how the gun cuts in to my abdomen when carrying appendix while seated in the vehicle. While having the gun off of my person while in the car will significantly improve my comfort it does have some drawbacks as well. I have weighed all of this heavily over the past year or more and I am content with my decision. Magnets???

I primarily carry a G43X and occasionally a G19X, both appendix. 6’1”, 210 lbs and both are plenty uncomfortable sitting, dig into my stomach too much, regardless of holster or position.

I deal with it in establishments, but always remove while driving. It’s still very accessible and for me, seems more accessible than leaving it on under awkwardly tucked garments. Just my preference for my situation though.

I feel you, and felt the same way before this belt. The next time you need a belt I’d suggest giving the one I linked a try. You won’t regret it.

Rare earth magnets under the dash seem to be the new hotness. Anything from amazon magnets with double sides tape to things like the vulcan quick draw. Super simple

Agreed, it has to come out while driving. I am just tired of it taking up space in my console and it makes for a rather awkward draw under duress should I ever need it when inside the vehicle.

I'll check it out. And yes, I have seen the magnet mounts, I much prefer the security of the holster screwed into the vehicle like I have chosen to go with here.

In my last vehicle I ran some magnets to hold the spare mag(s), then was able to use a smaller holster to store the pistol in a spot a larger holster wouldn’t have fit.

Overall it worked well, but I’m with y’all, I wouldn’t run magnets to hold a condition 0 pistol...unchambered maybe, but that’s not how I carry.

I installed the Victory 4x4 molle panel for the transmission tunnel/center stack/console today. I am not sure how I feel about it, the spacer orientation is odd due to the weird angle of the plastics. Once I get a new holster in for my EDC I'll mount it up and give it a whirl for a few weeks, sadly if I am not impressed it'll be too late to reverse it seeing how you have to drill into the plastics.

I think I am only going to run with one panel, the drivers side, which leaves me with a second that was supposed to mount on the passenger side. If anyone should want it drop me a PM and I'll sell it for a fair price.

I see what you mean about not being sure about if it'll work or not. When driving, I find my leg already pressed against the center console.
I may be interested in the passenger side for my wife's phone and maybe other little things. Unfortunately I can't do it now, so if someone else comes up with the cash, good on them! Otherwise I'll check back in a couple of months.
By the way, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask what you're asking for just the right side panel?

@jmanscotch has already purchased the other panel, thanks for the inquires.

Well if I can hold out until June (when GG promises to have the sleep platform out for the 460) then I might just ditch both second row seats lol.

Great weight savings in ditching the unused seats! Problem is storing them. I put mine in large moving boxes, wrapped them in plastic and put them in a basement closet.

Yea my third row seats and associated hardware/plastics are in the storage unit. Not sure why I am even bothering with them because they'll never go back in haha and no one will give you a dime for them.

Pfft, pack rat!

All kidding aside I don’t know what I’ll do with my 3rd row seats / hardware / etc when I remove mine.

Haha, yea it's likely a waste of time and space holding on to the third row seats. If I could get anything out of them I'd sell them, they are brand new, never sat in lol. Should I remove my second row seats like I am leaning towards, I will definitely hold on to them as I would like the option of converting it back later or possibly for future owners.

***12 month/26K mile review/update***

Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/70/17

So far I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of this tire. It does exceptionally well in every type of terrain I've had it in (road, sand, mud, rock, ice, snow, rain) and it has performed better in rain/snow/ice than my other favorite tire the BFG KO2. I am floored by how well it does in mud but seeing how it is more of an aggressive hybrid AT that is probably to be expected especially when compared to a more traditional AT like the KO2. They aren't H/T quiet on the road but they aren't bad either, I have noticed that they are starting to get a little louder at highway speeds recently but it's nothing excessive. Overall this is one of the best tires I've ever run on a 4WD and I wouldn't hesitate to replace them with another set in the future.

These tires when new have a 17/32" tread depth and I am averaging 11/32" after 12 months and 26K miles of use. At this rate I expect them to need replacement in the next 20-25K miles or around 45-50K total miles. I rotate and rebalance them religiously every 5K miles and I keep them at 36 psi for everyday use. My only concern and it's only a slight one, is how much they are starting to show dry rot in the tread between the main lugs. I am not seeing this in the sidewall or around the bead and it is very minimal, but I didn't expect this for a tire that is only one year old. So long as it doesn't advance much more than what it is now I won't be too worried about it going forward. I see very little chunking from use in rocks, but this could be due to the lower frequency of my rock usage. They've held up well to mesquite thorns too which is a huge factor down here.

At the rate I drive and with the trips I have planned for the remainder of the year, I'd be surprised if these tires are still on the truck a year from now, odds are I'll be replacing them by years end simply due to tread depth/life. I plan to move to a larger size at that time. Whether or not I stick with the Ridge Grappler going forward remains to be seen as there are a few other tires out there I would still like to try. I'm interested to hear from those of you out there that are also running the RG, are you seeing similar wear and performance?

Future owners is the only reason. I have had offers for my second row captains chairs. I will most definitely hang on to those.
I agree with holding them for the sole purpose of having them for resale. I took the third row out of my 100 series Landcruiser and just put 50gal trash bag over them. When I sold it, I still had the seats in near perfect condition! I just hated the wasted space of storing them.
But for some of you folks that live a little more rural than I do with a lot acreage and storage space, I would suggest keeping them. Just don't forget where you stuffed them away!
