im not too technically savvy but am curious if I got a windows surface tablet if techstream will run on it? I just bought a techstream kit off amazon and got to thinking hummmm maybe I need a computer to run with this. I currently have a 7 year old Apple laptop. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm also running on a Windows 7 tablet. I forget the exact specs but it was about $50 on Amazon used.

Thanks. The software I bought says it works on 32 and 64 bit. Looking forward to checking my ahc pressures etc...

(Edit from my post above)

I'm running one version on a HP Stream 7 tablet with Windows 8.1, its 32-bit. I also have another setup on a 32-bit Avus netbook.

I'm not IT savvy and was able to get both to work with a little bit of effort. It helped that I already had the cable from a previous setup that was stolen.

Right after I figured this out, the Techstream in 5 minutes thread was started for running on Macs which is great. It's nice to see it becoming easier to set-up.

On Ebay for $31.00 I purchased a WinBook 7" Tablet TW700.
It has a full size USB port and Win10.
Not fast booting up but does run TechStream very well.

Ok, I went ahead with the SP and it's working MUCH faster than my old XP notebook :)

Booting up is instant and I love the fact that I can rotate and use it full screen

Only caveat to others that may come across this is that there is a CHROMEBOOK version of the Surface (and other 2-in-1 tablets) that this WILL NOT run on. You do need a Windows OS (or other OS if you plan to run it via the VB). Other than that, the tablet/2-in-1 is actually pretty optimal.

I purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 12 that works perfectly for this, and actually I love the little laptop/2-in-1 more than any laptop I have used in recent years. Now I wish I had gotten something a little more robust, but that is more for s***s and giggles, than the oldish Yoga (like an X260 or X460).

Oh man. This is a game changer for me. Which SP did you go with? The one that you linked?
Looks like seller has 3 of the 128gb version and only 1 of the 64gb version.

I run Techstream on my 2015 Apple Macbook Pro. Downloaded VirtualBox and installed Windows XP 32bit to run it. Works great.

Does the surface pro need to be 32 bit? Is there a particular software i should attempt to get it with?
