So, now for something a little different that is taking most of my limited spare time!
Our 15yr old daughter Abi has been wanting an early 60's Chev/GMC truck for a while. We've searched for almost a year and finally found one in her limited budget ($1600 USD for this one). The deal was that Abi buys the truck, Dad will cover expenses to get it legal in BC. (We're about even!). This one came out of Hood River Oregon. Runs, drives, stops, and steers from time-to-time.
Been working on getting this ready for the out-of-province mechanical; has some tail light issues and wipers don't work, some rust holes in the floors. 235 Straight Six, 4 Speed (granny low non-syncro first), It's 1961 with a '62 grill. It has the original engine with 145,000 miles, generator, and get this, positive ground.
For the money, it's a pretty solid truck compared to what we had been looking at this past year.

(And one more thing, we haven't broken one rusted bolt during any dissassmbly work so far (just undid them with no torch, oil, nothing); can't say that about our BC Toyotas!)
Thank goodness parts are plentiful in aftermarket online.
