It's not cheap but have you priced rubber that IS available from Toyota?? They want over $400 for the rubber at the bottom of the liftgate of a '60.

PV Cruisers is gone and their stock is at Cabe Toyota in Long Beach. Another supplier is Slocruisers.

Wonder why SOR.com don't carry them?

They were custom made by Seth at PV Cruisers and when he got out of it he sold his stock to Cabe Toyota. SOR has not had them since Toyota stopped making them. I expect that when the stock is gone they will once more be "unobtainium" unless John at Slocruisers makes some.

Why do they cost over $200 for a piece of rubber

Yup. I replaced that rubber on my Pig when I first got it. 21 years ago when the part was still available from Toyota, and it cost over 300 bucks then. PVcruisers rubber is superior to the factory piece. I thought it was a bargain.

X2; Seth did a great job in fabbing a very difficult composite piece.........hopefully John or Seth at Slocruisers might remake them when the stock is sold out

I know these are hard to find ( PVCruiser.com ? ). Why do they cost over $200 for a piece of rubber? Not even my Trojans cost that much. Is there an alternative route that will work or maybe fabricate?

When you finally see a reproduction up close you will understand why it cost so much. It is really nice.

Dude Call CABE Toyota and ask for Kevin. He hooked me up with a full set of rear rubber.

It was not cheap, but not expensive considering what you get. I am afraid to put it on now as it is pretty sweet!

I guess I can spend $300 for a piece of recycled rubbers...LOL..

Not recycled! Replica NEW rubber. Recycled implies used. I don't think any of us would be running out to buy used weatherstrip for that kind of money!

I know the feeling. I have had mine for well over a year now. Until I paint the 55 it's not going on.
