Yes, you can add spacers with air bags.
 
Could you post a few pics? would like to see a before and after if you have and under carriage shots.
First two are now unloaded and loaded. Last three are before any suspension upgrades. Don't have airbags plumbed yet. Trying to figure out where to put compressor and how to control it. Also battery system.

Also you can see how close the bumpstop was before. There is a leaf stuck in it. (3rd image)

Should also note I went from stock size tires to LT295/75R-16.

On my Silverado..36psi is softer pressure than called for. Tire dealer said you are better off higher pressure than borderline low. Just don’t over inflate. At 40 psi the rolling resistance minimizes. My last set of Michelins gave me over 80000 mile on a 1500 4WD Silverado with most of that mileage on highway surfaces. 65+ mph
