Suspension Recommendations

I love my 40 I just wouldn’t mind a slightly lower CG and a comfier ride.

This is going to be my camping rig so it will always have the roof top tent on it an awning and it’ll have some gear inside.

I’ve been told that flatter springs are a better for an SOA flip, but I am unsure if this is true.

I wouldn’t mind an inch or two lower if I can do it with shackles. Also would anything shift with a smaller shackle? Would I need a shorter leaf?

It looks like 7 leafs in the front 6 in the rear. Old Man Emu? Dobinsons? Would you go more or less leafs or keep the same but just get new ones?

My extent on suspension is putting coilovers and lowering my F100 so I don’t know much about off road setups or springs.

It could be about 1" lower with stock lenght shackles .
With the RTT you should not remove leaf or it will be scary to drive

You can shorten your shackle to a point. The amount you shorten the shackle will reduce the height by about 1/2 of what you removed. It may increase your shackle angle and that might slightly soften your ride. Your current shackle angle is more vertical and isnt helping your ride quality. The shackle frame mounts might have to be moved to create a better angle. SOA, creates quite a lot of lift, maybe 6" or more. Removing SOA to SUA can be a little challenging to get back proper steering geometry. Do you know if the axle housing has been cut and turned?

I wouldn’t mess with that very much other than shorter shackles there’s some decent work done there. Surprised it looks that tall. Here’s mine on 38’5 swampers with a 3 inch body lift and SOA. With hard top and on 37 with softtop. if I took my body lift out mine would be fairly low lol.
Maybe mine is too tall also. Haha. I did add an extra leaf to my spring packs as my springs where to soft. My shackles are shorter than yours ,
