Rules say your flag should be 8 feet above the ground...
I got my whip at Radio shack.

I found one (several) at Warmart, in the toys section, for really cheap. About $5 each, made of a fairly strong material, it is great in a pinch. It's intended use is for a bicycle, but mounted on the bumper of a lifted rig will easily net you the required height.

Whip threaded on the truck end I presume Woody?

Do you know the thread size so we can bring appropriate washers/nuts to secure it if we've got a place in mind? ...no, I'm not as bad as E9999. :D

BrentE9999bba,

Personally, I'm a zip tie/duck tape kind of guy myself. :hillbilly:

Got these at the shops on Pier Avenue ramp. Works with a 1/2 inch hole. Whip is 1/4 inch hole through split bolt. The whips are not threaded, just smooth fiber glass. It's a compression fit.

what? you guys need a threaded mast too...? geez...
drill a hole in your roof and off you go! :D
me, I made a custom threaded rod insert with rubber liner and epoxy coated gizmo. Of course it's not exactly like I can take it apart any more but eh, it looks cool... :)

thanks for the ham info Jim. But what's this about vehicle style? There is only one fashionable style: 80 all the way!

 OUCH! :crybaby:

Guess I'll have to return that bottle of Tequila. :flipoff2:
While accountants and engineers to share many personality traits, I wouldn't go that far. :ban: ;p

eh! engineers made landcruisers work! Accountants made them expensive...

Is it easy to mount the ih8mud flag to a 8ft ham antenna HFCs whip?

Had a panic mode for a minute, my P/S pump started puking fluid at an alarming rate. I originally thought it was the front seal, but turns out it was the P/S pump leaking down to the front crank pulley. Lucky I had a spare sitting on a spare engine, 3 hours and some skinned knuckles and it is now leakless! Got a couple small things to detail and then packing for the epic event!

They are are bare 5/16 fiberglass...no mount....posted early about offering those, but had to draw a budget line somewhere...

Any sand/ATV shop will have a threaded mount avail...
