Apparently, we have one less to worry about next year...

Greg, Pismo Jim, Ken, Rob and I were chillin around the fire when this happened.
It was just down the beach from S&T. Jim got the word from the rangers via Seth re accident and guy not breathing and we ran down there, but the guy was done. The ATVs were just destroyed. Paramedics arrived just after we did and we split.
It was pretty sureal.
Pismo was amazing!

Can't wait for next year. It was so great to put faces to all the names.
Thanks to Jim and Katherine and all the other pismo crew for putting together
an amazing event.

yep. I was there as well. Seemed like you guys had it handled, especially with Ken there, so a few of us stayed where we were. We saw the rangers fly by shortly after you guys left.

Well, I just got back into town to Chicago from SNT and we had a great time! I would like to thank Jim and Katherine for organizing such a great event. I would also like to thank guys like Alvarorb for being so friendly. Everyone there was so very nice and the cruisers we great. I will be there again next year! :D

Bob here. It was great having you and Greg for camping neighbors. I wish you luck in your quest to purchase the teardrop. Very cool setup. I really enjoyed your company. Hope to see you again next year.

Greg is a Firefighter too.. between the two of them they pretty much made the call as the the medic pulled up. We got outa there and let the medics do what they do. It wasn't an hour before the accident that Ken and Jason told us in all seriousness that on a busy weekend, 1 or 2 dead is common.
Pretty sad event.. but nothing could take out any of the buzz I was having at S&T.

Wow, what can I say and were do I start.......

Awsome event.

This year was close to 50 hrs of driving and only a mear 50 hrs at pismo, whirlwind trip for me and very last minute.

Met the Texas folks, Gary, Nolen, Butch, Cowboy and can see these guys know how to have a good time.

Bumped into Nuclearmelon and Treecot, really glad we had some time to chat, got the low down on the Nuclearmelon handle, great story.

Also the Cali boys were top notch group, Orange 45(Georg) now this guy gives the cruiser group a great name as he is so helpfull and offers full hospitality to myself and other cruiser folk he has never met, kudos Georg.

Top Loader and the crew are out of hand fun guys, gotta get over to pirates and have a chat with the guys. These boys know how to build hard core rigs, my mouth almost hit the sand looking over thier queer steer buggy.

Met many many more folks to mention as my brain was on overload I have hard time remembering everyones name, thanks for the open arms welcome.

As for Pismo Jim, a true leader in this community who I highly respect and had the luck of seeing late Saturday night after most went to sleep except me and a couple Canadian stragglers and few others.

Great stories Jim, really and truly happy we got to sit and chat, sorry I misssed out on the 100 dollar a bottle tequila as you were called away at the last minute.

Cheers guys and gals

Edit Edit, big thanks to Greg and Sheldon for thier hospitality, food, drink and company along with a ride back to Canada.....

rob, great to finally meet you!!! i drove the 45 a little yesterday afternoon, i'll take it to the shop tomorrow to do some work on it. i'll try to keep you updated.

so who's got the pics of the "porn star"?! i think you guys might be "closet chubby-chasers"!?:flipoff2: but since i'm a hypocrite, you might as well email them to me orangefj45@sbcglobal.net

Pleasure Rob...

I did not get out to meet some of the folks I had wanted to, as spending some time with friends I had not seen in a few years was the order of the day. It was really good to reconnect in person.

Hopefully sooner then another 5 years for my attending again. Thanks Jim/Katherine and crew!

I've done a few road trips in my BJ42 and the BJ74, but was a totally different experience in the 1HD-T'd FZJ80. I got spoiled.

It's always sad to read about a death regardless of the circumstances, but the curious side of me would love to see what the toxicology report had to say.

Thanks Bob, the feeling is mutual. We are definately going to come back next year, with at least 10 days for the return trip. I'll let you know if the sprung over, portal axle teardrop trailer purchase pans out.
Keep in touch.

70sguy,
were you the canadian that was around the bonfire w/ norcal doug and me? How you thought last year was not as fun but this year it was all good- if so, it was really nice to meet you!

Umm.. I wasn't at Surf & Turf last year, and neither was Greg. We probably met though. Maybe it was Brett... Brett, were you the (ex) Canadian trash talkin S&T 2005?
It was pretty hard for me to keep all the names and faces straight. We met some real top notch folks.

This is Greg (old guy) and Me... Thanks FJ trail team for the pic, swag and the movie!
