Just for the experience, we're heading down in the bagel chariot (aka 1984 fj60). The 62 is in use, the 80 is waiting for the smog paperwork-I was lazy an smogged a month late) and the 40, while drivable, would not be much fun all the way to Pismo.

Awesome! Can't wait....

Oh yeah, Andy--I'll be coming in on Delta 1187 SLC-SMF ETA: 11:57AM

:)

This is going to be great! Meeting all you guys I haven't met yet. I was getting my camping stuff together last night.

Just look for a nice and clean blue/white FJ55.

I can't believe you guys are already checking your camping gear. i don't do that until the night before... I'm still in repair mode.

Can't wait for my first SnT (after years on the wrong coast, it's nice to be near the correct coast ;) )

Flying into SMF on Tuesday for prep with Cruiserdrew.....

Then I guess we are hittin' the road Weds....

Looking forward to meeting some of the more "colorful" personalities on MUD...

SWEEET!!

Is CruiserDrew going to let you take one from his fleet or is he taking you as a passenger?

I'll be riding shotgun...

Looking forward to meeting the ANIMAL!! :)

Beer in Sac?

:bounce:

Nat and I will be hitting the road from the Monterey Bay area on Thursday.

1 80
1 55

Anyone else want to tag along?

Just a warning, it will be 55mph the whole way, trailer and all.

Just throwing that out there...

I'll try for this but it might be a last minute thing. I pick up Onur at the airport at 11:57 Tuesday, we need to pack, shop for supplies and get out act together. Getting a beer Tuesday night sounds like a plan. Maybe go to Rubicon Brewery? for some pre-SNT libations.

This is getting better by the minute!

If all goes as planned, the G/F and I will be ready to leave Lathrop (just south of Stockton) about noon Friday. I'm hoping to have the ham radio in Mon or Tues, so finding me on 2m should be easy If all else fails I will have a handheld on 146.460 KE6BZY Brodie

FYI last report Joes truck stop had unleaded at $2.45/gallon I-5 south exit Lathrop ave, left then right. Its on the frontage road. Next cheapest place will probably be at Santa Nella.

From Stockton to Pismo Beach its about 250 miles. I-5 south, take the Avenal cut off,(big truck stop on the hill to your right) go through Avenal turn left at the T with hwy 33, then turn right onto Hwy 41 towards Paso Robles. Catch hwy 101 south in Paso Robles, you have about an hour from the 101/41 junction to the Pismo Beach area. This route will save you about 30 minutes over going to Kettleman City and making the turn.

Two light rail stops and a short walk away...

:D

After wr0k, preferably...

Lets see, I think I'll get up around 0800 hrs on Friday, take a shower, maybe have breakfast, finish packing and leave for SnT around 0845....get there about 0920 :grinpimp:. I'm such an ass.

Must be nice :flipoff2: I'm looking at about 30 hrs of seat time

The Sacramento #1 posse (at least 2 trucks) will be leaving Sac mid morning Wednesday, with the goal to get in before dark and eat dinner on the beach. At FJ60 speed, I hope to be sharing a beer with Pismo Jim by 5pm. I'll likely haul down a bit of firewood to have a fire that first night unless the locals will have some wood on the beach.

I think the Caja China will arrive Thursday, and so the pork feeding frenzy will begin then. Pretty cool there is even more pig on the Beach for Saturday! that's nice work by the Camping Lab dudes.

I'll be monitoring 146.460 and the two linked repeaters and hope to speak to the dudes on the beach by noon or so. I just put a radio in my FJ60 and I'm stoked to try it out. Jim-will you be monitoring the repeater on your HT?

Any word on the creek yet? It's been pouring for 2 days here and I would expect a bit of water to cross. I hope so, just not a raging torrent!

Mentally I'll be in Pismo after work on Monday and maybe before!:grinpimp:

The wife and I have friday off so we will be leaving early friday and should get there i the early afternoon, Just have to swap the tires on he 45 I hope my old 32'' MTR's will fit might make the drive in the sand easyer. See you all soon
