Found this in a box of old stuff my mom brought up from when I still lived at home. I remember buying this at a Toys R Us in Panama City Beach, FL right after I heard about Owen Hart. Sometime in 1998 when I was 15.

Been looking for my first acoustic guitar, from 1983. I can't recall seeing it in the last 12-13 years. This is the problem with having a ton of stuff and being a generous guy. Not that I don't have plenty of others to comfort me :D. Meh, maybe I just forgot which one it is.

My youngest has been wearing a pair of my old GI Joe house shoes I had as a kid for the past couple of days. My oldest son wore them also while they fit his foot. Nice to see them getting used again for this brief window of time until they are put away indefinitely once more.

I made a pair of pliers from a single piece of wood back in the early 80’s. Pretty sure the instructions were in Boy’s Life magazine. Pretty much just plunge cuts with a #11 Exacto blade but it was cool as hell at 10 years old. Been in my desk ever since.

What was once old is new again! This thing came into our house ~29 years ago (my first memory of it). Not sure how or why. Relax, @CharlestonG8R - it's a kitchen knife, not a Star Trek blade. Now it mine all mine!!!!!!! So is the wool army blanket under neath it that might date back to the mid-60's. Ah, the benefits of when your parents decide to clear out junk! Now...who wants six 27" CRT televisions???

what exactly do you use that for???

Do you yell Kaplaaahhh when using it??

Edit: Missed the Star Trek pun you already threw in there.

Everything?

I had to google it and, I see that the term Delphi Knife means an original multi-tool going back to the Greeks - used for chopping, like a screwdriver, cutting, slashing, cooking, and self defense.

Well played, @JohnVee

So after previously saying that I don't have anything still from my childhood I realized that's not true today.
With the passing of Stan Lee I realize I still have a few hundred comics from my childhood. I had a few thousand when I was younger but the majority of the ones worth anything were jacked by my brothers friends when I was in London for college.
So I guess I do still have a few things after all

That the forerunner of a GINSU? Were your parents avid television watchers?

The forerunner of the Leatherman?

This thread may be getting some mileage soon as I start to empty out my fathers house for sale. But I got this little gem from 1983 Jimmy V basketball camp.

Some friends and I collected military unit patches, ribbons, and medallions, and we'd trade them. I have a decent collection, all pre-dating 1980. Sampling:

I also have the local Canton Repository full newspaper dated August 3, 1979 announcing the death of and memorializing Thurman Munson, catcher of the NY Yankees. He was a hometown hero, easily accessible, we all knew his family. Of all the famous/important people who died while we were young - Elvis, whoever else - this is the one that hurt us all personally.

Nice I used to have some military patches also.... can't remember what happened to them.

I like this thread!
Here’s what I have with a quick perusal. There’s more hiding in closets and the attic.

There is a lot going with the shelf. The ball glove was my Dads from the ‘50’s. I found an ad for his glove and hung it on the wall. The ball player figurine and thermos was his also. The transistor radio and peanuts lunch box are mine from childhood. The lunch box even has the thermos inside. The camera was given to me a few years ago, so not from childhood, but it still works. The flashlight was purchased for the Relic Run ‘17.

My Lambo poster from the 80’s. When I found it at my parents house my daughter loved it, so it hangs in her room now.

Remember in the 80’s when Levi’s 501 were so old they were new again? Also hanging in my daughters room.

And finally, a Darth Vader missing the cape and light saber from the 80’s as well as a spider man that had a fishing line web to swing from. One day those old iphones might be worth something. 👍
