I’m almost positive that’s where (and how) my fuel gauge is grounded. I can check when I get home. Of course, very little of my truck is stock but that seems like as logical a place as any.

That's where my ground was all those years ago. I still remember that.

When you have a day free, I'll come over and help you with the transmission. I believing that will be an easy fix. Just let me know.

Long journey to get carb and MC sorted out. Finally got a rebuilt F from Mark at Mark’s Offroad.

Details here. Carb / Brake Master Clearance issues... Ideas?

Then broke off the little brass screws that hold the valve, detailed here. F carburetor brass screws for throttle valve

Now need to re-pipe the fuel line since the F carb fuel inlet is 90° off from the 2F.

Aft about 6 weeks of fighting with the carb, I'm at least close to being able to mount it again. I'll need to figure out the fuel cable connector, as it's different from the other carb - I cut off the knob on my new fuel cable but the OEM carb expects the knob. I think I can rob from the 2F.

Does this look like a leak in the oil pan or around the fuel pump? It is a pretty significant leak - leaked an ounce while just idling. I'm guessing feel pump as the oil is coming down the engine mount from above, below the feel pump area.

Ah, yes, you notice I said idling! Yes I finally was able to start the truck with Mark's rebuilt carb, and get it to idle almost at a normal level - I have a sticky throttle mechanism that doesn't want to return to idle after touching the gas pedal. I can do it manually on the carb, but it won't go back via the pedal. It just sticks about a half inch too open. To be sorted....

By this shot, it can't be the oil pan. It can't flow uphill and over to the motor mount. But then, it doesn't look like it's from around the fuel pump either. Is there a trail going up to the side cover? That would be more logical to me.

No nothing on the side cover - I checked that specifically.

Oh I need a shot of your excellent new fuel line that you were so kind to come and make me yesterday!

Agree it can't go uphill! Unless it's squirting, but there's not that much pressure, right?

I continue to slowly work out the kinks on this truck I bought 3 years ago to "drive" while I did my frame off on the other truck.

Today I finished the fab on the carb throttle return brackets that were not on the carb (the small one that's normally attached to the throttle circuit was gone, and there's was no main large bracket, though those usually just be purchased separately).

The work was easy, just needed the time. Thanks to the mudders who helped educate me to the presence of such a thing as a throttle return bracket to begin with.

Once these dry, I can mount and measure for a proper spring from McMaster Carr.

Well, is a new day for STPCHLD. I have decided to sell her to Rainman.

I'm sad to let her go, but I cannot work on two at once. Plus now I have the funds to complete my paint job on SMOKEY without going any more out of pocket, and clears a spot in the driveway - both of which score points with my wife.
