I've searched on here and googled, but can't seem to find the info. Can anyone tell me the measurement from the centre of the hub to the bottom of the fender on a stock FJ55? Mine I'm sure has stock front springs + a PTO winch and the measurement is approximately 19". The rear has an 'add a leaf' and the measurement is approximately 20". Any ideas?

It's been so long since I've had a stock Pig...Heck, since I've SEEN a stock Pig. Can't help you.

Edit: Wheel what ya got.

I'm curious about that number, too, although I suspect the specified parameter, as suggested, would be the axle clearance to the stock bumpstop.

In my case, with stock springs, brushguard, and heavy 5687 winch, my clearance is about 1 1/2". Not much!

Regardless of what the specified parameter is, I'm saving my $$ for a set of springs to bring that clearance number up to about 4".

Good point. Mine is 25mm at the front with stock springs and a bar and PTO winch. The rear is 75mm and has an add a leaf.

I have come up with an idea to mount OME springs fairly easily, but I'll get it done before I post up. Just waiting on shackles, pins, bushes etc. There are a few companies in Aus that list suspension parts and I get a quote over the phone but when I go to order I get, 'oh they discontinued those parts'. Waiting on calls backs now.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but here goes...

The toyota landcruiser 50th anniversary book specifies these numbers (mm):

overall length 4675mm, overall width 1690mm, overall height 1960mm, wheelbase 2700mm, ground clearance 210mm (from bottom of diff to ground), minimum turning circle 12.4m. Also looks like top of tailgate when down and parallel to ground is 795mm. HTH, ty

Am I the only one with a stock pig in the US? I find that impossible.

It's low real low. I'll measure when I get home. But my springs have probably sagged a little.

From what I have read stock 55's came with 27 inch tires. I'm assuming this is what your running?

Mine is has 31" tyres, but from what I have read in old magazines in Aus they came out with 7.50R16 (32") tyres.

Have 19 1/4 on the left and 20 1/4 on the right. So with a PTO your measurements would be about right.

Thanks Marshall, much appreciated. I'm going to get a start on the new suspension this weekend. I have the shackles, pins etc on order, should be here next week. Should get 2-3" lift.
