Hey guys hope you all are having a pigish day today, so I ordered my 4" lift from manafre, choke choke. In the past when I've bought leafspring kits they come with a dropped pitman arm, what does everyone do about that aspect with the piggies?

Did you buy the 'Safari' set up? Springs, OME shocks, longer shackles?

If so, I have run that kit for years. Did not swap the pitman arm. I did add (can't remember if they came with the kit or not) 4 degree shims up front to correct for the lift. I believe I also shortened or lengthened the driveshafts the first time (mechanic installed, recommend drive shaft stuff) I had the kit installed on my trail pig. Then I swapped that same kit to my princess pig and never addressed the driveshafts. I wheeled both pigs a little, never had any real issues on either.

Pretty much 'plug and play'. :)

That would be nice, yes that is the same lift. I'm assuming I will have to make driveline adjustments when I installed smallblock with 700r4 anyway

I had a bunch of work done at the same time this lift was initially installed in my trail pig as well. Made sense at the time, but I don't believe it's absolutely necessary.

The kit I bought was a bit more complete. It came with OME shocks, extended anti-inversion shackles, pins, etc. It's worked well for me and met my needs/expectations. Any other questions about the lift?

yes that is the same lift

Do you plan on running larger tires when you lift?

If yes then I would add power steering at the same time you install the lift.

If you install power steering then your next call should be to Luke @4x4labs and let him know what box you are using and he will work with you from there.

As others have made mention of the lift will decrease you caster and you’ll need shims or think about a cut and turn to correct this.

Good luck and post pictures..

Yes I will be running 35s, I planned on power stearing just havent, figure out wich yet. Seems very confusing when you try and look it up. Any suggestions?

I used a Scout box but they are getting difficult to find, I read guys use 60 boxes but I have no knowledge on the particulars, I do know @4x4labs can make you the correct components for either box.

When I first built my pig with a 4” lift and 35” tires I did not cut and turn and it was a hand full to drive at speed or on a grooved road, the second time I cut and turned and it drives like a dream.

Thanks liljohn, I'm looking at the chevy due to the fact that I have a parts car to utilize, I hate to say it but don't really plan on taking it off reading, at least not at this point. I will be making new drivelines due to engine swap so that will be ok, I made a spherical joint high steer settup on my last early bronco. Maybe I will do the same hear. The steering system on this thing seems way over complicated anyways
