The frame off is coming along nicely. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see the rest of it.

thank you! its an 87 sr5. I have the 4age from that mr2 sitting on the engine stand that might find a new home after the fj is on the road again.

my first try at making the replacement curved sheet on the back. had lots of fun today.
the cb antenna hole. decided to leave the dealer option antenna holes. I will probably buy a new antenna and use it there.

got the tubing for the sill on friday. im not going to re-use the old horns in the picture, those are going to be my templates. i will have to wait until i get some free time at work to cut those out with the plasma cutter. i took a picture of those old stickers i thought were cool. hopefully my next post will be of a finished rear sill and tub metal work.

made the sill corners tonight. not complete yet but almost.
first i traced one of the pieces i cut off 4 times onto some 3/16" plate, then i cut out the rough shape using the band saw. after that i clamped them together with the pliers and used a belt sander and angle grinder to make them all the same and smooth out the corners.

Awesome work!! I really like the job you are doing on this rig. It gives me hope on mine. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can salvage my 1/4's like you did. More $$ to spend on the good stuff like lockers or a winch:hhmm:.

thank you for the compliments! i recomend doing it. its easier than i thought it would be before i started, and i actually enjoy doing it. it would probably be easier to buy the whole panel but i am on a pretty tight budget and so far i have spent less than $100 on material/welding wire.

that piece was my first attempt at making a replacement panel, it was thelast of the 16ga. sheet i bought and came up a little short so ill prob end up using that elsewhere. i would like to re create the factory lip out of some more sheet. still havent completely figured it out.

Looking very good! Great to watch it unfold.

didnt get any work on my 40 done this weekend. went out of town and helped my brother work on his project: 40 windshield on 55. also picked up some pick and pull seats for the fj, will have them.

ugly colored seats i got for 20 bucks a piece from a 1988 corolla gt-s. I had originally planned to put them in my corolla but they are too wide due to the drive shaft tunnel in my corolla so these will be put in the fj.
