Ok, so I really want to go, How much is it going to cost and how much can i really do before I get all the mods done, pretty much stock now. Also, I am a member of the Irish Parade Committee in both Dogtown and Downtown, this year they are on the same day, it's nuts, I have a meeting that morning Downtown form 9-12, We need volunteers if you want to drink for free after the parade!!!!!!!
so how long does it take to get down to flatnasty and how long will you guys be wheelin"?
My Email is jdaley@daleygroup.org if you guys want to put me on the list?

hey flatnasty is about 45 minutes from Rolla, 15 - 20 minutes from Salem so figure from there.

There are a couple videos floating around the site from the TAC TLCA event they had there last year. If you search for flat nasty video or go to the TAC subgroup forum you should find them...they wil give you an idea of the trails. From what i hear they aren't that good for wagons like the 60, 80, and 100 series. I think woody took his 80 and got some body damage Romer possibly did also ...not sure about that though.

Hope to see you there.

I went to the Flat Nasty event last year and I can tell you it is very tight for a wagon but do able. If your 100 is still stock you will need to remove the running boards and mud flaps at a bare minimum. I have a lifted 60 with 33 and it hit front and rear on several trails. You will need to stick to the green trails and I would suggest riding with someone else to look at them first. Some of the trails are very long with no place to turn around.

OK - so I'm totally new to the forum and ony about 3 yrs wheelin w/my bro's in Arkansas & CO but we're interested in a STL area club. Live in St. Peters MO - drive a slightly modified 00 4Runner

Office Hours

For the people thats meeting at Flat Nasty, is there a certain time frame ? Anybody know when the office opens? Thanks, Al

Dunno but I'd suggest meeting as early as possible. Depending on the number of rigs we'll be lucky to do very many of the trails in one day. The two popular green trails alone can eat up the majority of the day.

If the office is closed surely we can make arrangements to pay after the first run.

Hey,

I can get there at about anytime that morning since the wife has to get up at 6:00 in the AM so thats not a big deal just let me know.

Since no one else has suggested a time how about 8:30AM?

okay so I am guessing that alot of us will meet in St.louis and caravan down to Flatnasty then meet up with the other group.

I think that Mcdonalds at Bowles ave. in Fenton would be a great place to meet since it is on HWY44. I think that between 730 and 8 would be a good time to meet and still make it down at a good time.

sheesh I typed all that and no one read it?:D

how does mcdonalds at 730 sound for every one in St.l?

I am sorry for not sneding out emails about the group meetings yet- I have been looking at places to meet and talking to the managers about a group and room for us.

I think Siebergs restuarant on Gravois is going to be what we need- they have a private room upstairs with a big screen (we can watch footage from each of out outings durung meetings/dinner) I spoke with the manager about using it and they are fine with it- we have to nail down a day of the month to meet and let them know and they will make sure to have it available for us each month

this weekend, anyone have a CB? we need to all get them if we plan on wheeling together (they are an invaluble tool) you will use this thing more than you know-
I am bringing 2 hand held radios (motorola) for vehicle to vehicl chatter as well as an extra CB if someone needs it

Yeah I saw it but that was a time for the STL folks to meet in Fenton. I'm talking about what time to meet at Flat so the non-STL folks would know.

If you guys are meeting in Fenton at 7:30 that would put you at Flat by 9 at the earliest. In reality this would probably get us on the trail by 10AM by the time we figure out which trails and which rigs are going with which group.

If you're long wheel base and without sliders you'll wanna stick to the green trails. I haven't ran all the trails but the yellows I rode on would not be recommended in a LWB without sliders.

So, everyone meet at Flat between 8:30 and 9AM. If you have a CB use Ch 14. If you don't have a CB, steal one. Cell service there is spotty at best.

Work for everyone?

The group I'm goin with are " planning " on being there about 8:30-900 ( at FN ), as the wife plans on cooking a bit ( Dutch Oven goodies ), as she gets EASILY scared trail riding. Pick a channel so we can get in touch, see whats goin on. Anybody goin to have an onboard air system, in case the canoe rental place isn't open? Al

canoe rental place should be open......i have a CB laying around that if someone needs it they can borrow it for the trail ride as long as i get it back before we leave you will need your own antenae though.

I'll try to get there at around 830

lunyou

make sure u guys bringing xtra cbs also bring an extra antenna (they wont work witout one) wiring one on the trail is easy- but I dont know how to wire a makeshift antenna.

I will email everyone and PM them in the AM.

If anyone can post up what rig they are bringing and trail mods (locked/tires/winch/lift) so we can get a general idea of how to divide up.

we should try and do some trail work as a group so we can get to know each other.

channel 14 it is.

:crybaby: Looks like I"m not makin' FN - home stuff & tranny troubles in the 4R - but aimin' to meet everyone in Fenton - things will get better I know & I will make a trail ride .
