Yeah, I was all over my maps trying to follow the directions. Between three maps I think I've got it. :) Maps and actual road names sometimes are totally different, that's what makes it fun. We'll be there.
Confirm your horizon glass is perpendicular, safe travels my friend.

Or just back away from such "modern" technology and let 'er rip. Flip a coin at every crossroads or wet your finger and stick it out the window to see which way the wind blows you. (Having followed you, it appears you already have the requisite experience with those options.)
Have fun at SSS2021. We'd likely be there if we weren't leaving this weekend for a week with our son in New Mexico.

So when you turn in off the main gravel road there are 4-5 camps along the ridge line. If anyone has any sidebar groups they plan to camp with feel free to take spots as you want to. I think Thad the trail lead will be on the last one so if you come up on a turd white 80 with a corn pone Mizzou guy wearing a big hat like in Outlaw Josey Wales you will be at the end of the camps.

Beware. They like to get up early and talk loudly.

If you see my group the guy in the white 80 with me snores very loud.

All kidding aside. Find a spot and camp wherever you want and if solo camping is your thing there are tons of places close to base camp road
