Can you install that BT adapter AND the Nav/DVD override module together?

I'm wondering if they require the same ports to hookup and are mutually exclusive

I have both installed in my '08 LX.

Has anyone re-purposed the "card holder" in the dash (left of steering wheel)??

I want to use that space for something actually useful but can't come up with anything

Does putting magnets on the front center dash speaker grill actually cause any harm to the speaker or other undesired effects?

I've got loads of magnets up there holding my what-nots

How can you change the auto-lock/auto-unlock when shifting feature? Many vehicles allow the driver to customize these settings but I haven't found anything in the screen UI settings yet

Look in the index at the back of your manual under “Customizable Features.”

You will find the instructions on the pages indicated there.

Can’t remember because it’s pretty fiddly to change them (at least is seemed that way to me on my 2008). Likely different depending on your year...

Fold up a couple of C notes or 20's for gas money?

Driver's side door lock started freaking out today, hit lock on the controller and it just peeped a couple times and could hear the lock attempting to flip over, but couldn't do it. All other doors are locking except the drivers door. I can manually lock it prior to closing the door but the controller is a no go. I know the 100 guys had this issue with the door actuator, anyone replaced this on the 200 yet? Could it be something different? thanks

Anyone else seen a Toyota air filter with blue media?

No, all of mine are covered in Utah desert dust *

* Yes, every one I've gotten from Toyota has a tint of blue.
Cool. Everyone I’ve gotten except this one has been fuzzy white. Wonder what’s the difference?

The only paper filter I’ve seen with blue tint has been Donaldson nanofiber, the holy grail of filters, but I’m just wishful thinking that this has anything to do with that.

Utah dust and blue:)

Kind of a general question. How long is a car battery good for just sitting there without being charged? My 14 LC had a new battery installed 12/16, but then I pulled it out in 03/17 to install an AGM Interstate battery. I now have an 08 LX with a battery that’s about 5 years old, so I was thinking about replacing it with the LC battery that was new one year ago. I’m sure it’s dead of course just sitting in the garage, but after charging it up could it be a reliable battery again? I wouldn’t be surprised if some cells are damaged or dead from not being charged for so long, but I have no idea.

Great question. Related data point: I am getting ready for the annual trek North to PA and wondered if I should get a new battery. My '11 LX still has the original battery and starts the truck right up down here in AL. Granted, the truck was rarely used until I bought it in December 2015 with ~9K miles, but the battery is probably eight or more years old.

Did some research on how to test a battery at home without a tester (my VOM doesn't have a min/max function) and decided it was easier just to drive to Autozone and have them load test it. The battery tested to spec under load, which means it will also deliver enough cold cranking power to start the truck at lower temps.

I am surprised how long that OEM battery has lasted. I am going to keep it until it fails - and when it does, I'll have my lithium jump starter in the truck as back up.

No, but I agree it seems as useless as teats on a bull. I am curious how much room is behind it in the dash. Could one use it for more switches? Or some sort of cubby?

I've pulled that section out more than once to install aux switches and its pretty friggin tight in there. I stick a $50 bill in the card holder as emergency money and that's about as good as it gets for that spot in my truck. And unless you're vertically challenged I don't see how anything useful could come from any amount of effort focused on that area for improvement.
I don't even like having my aux switches located there to be honest.

What Mark said. Its not in the UI. (Though that would make a ton of sense.) Instead you have to go through some gyrations/combination of pushing various buttons in the vehicle in a certain order or something like that. It looks like they had it designed before the days of software and Nav displays or assume that not LCs have displays.

They still make paper money?!
(thanks for intel, WB. Scratch that idea off my list)

I'm trying to picture this. My LX has a door that opens out to offer a small storage space left of the steering wheel. Plenty of room for all of my trailer, hitch, bike racks, gun safe, etc. keys, plus some other small stuff. Maybe there is a way to replace yours with one from an LX?

Wondering how others are using the add-on tray that fits in the top of the center console (example item through Amazon).

I was having trouble getting the tray out when driving. So I purchased a T-handle cabinet/drawer pull (looks like this) and mounted it mid tray.

Probably over thinking a trivial item, but would like to know if others did anything to make access to the cooler section easier while driving.
