Does anyone know what the small electrical harness is that is attached to the KDSS cover plate? Mine doesn't seem to be plugged into anything.
Thanks for posting that. It's not 100% conclusive but it's kind of what I was thinking. I guess the water pumps leak the same on all 5.7 motors regardless of where they were made. Ha I just bought a 2015 and was comparing notes with a friend that has a 2008 Sequoia. The service intervals differ on the two 5.7. Our oil change is 5k and his book says 8k for conventional motor oil and 10k for synthetic. He also tells me it's ok with 5w-20 and the LC manual says to swap it out at next oil change if you use it.
ok, have another one... I'm curious what the inside of the center console looks like because I haven't been able to find any pictures what it looks like under the lid... is there space there to store stuff or is the entire thing the cooler?
The cooler takes up the whole large space, but the lid is bifurcated and will hold a few small items (e.g. charging cables, gum, etc.). On the earlier 200's, I believe the cooler was an option so some don't have them.
My wife just sticks the normal storage items in the cooler - we've never used it as a cooler...
That makes sense - I may run a volt meter to it and see if it gets any power....may be a cool place to tie into for some reason....
Lol, sorry for my verbiage, sometimes it just slips out... Storage isn't as plentiful as say a Sequoia. Glove box is pretty spacious and there are door pockets. I've posted elsewhere about how I've utilized gear from Vanquest and Maxpedition to hold more stuff. I've also got the JDM spec third row seat covers that have pockets on them (that's where I keep the owner's manual tomes, among other stuff).
I was opposed to the cooler but have come to appreciate it. If you plan on keeping milk in there though, I recommend using a ziplock around the bottle or sippy cup...

Wait! My bifurcated LX cooler lid doesn't open except to allow access to the cooler...but it does slide forward as an armrest in a very bifurcated way! Or am I missing something? This is the SQOD after all....
SQOTD - I know it's not a Cayenne, but the LC200 has some horsepower... And I've run it up above 90 once or twice on a straightaway here and there. I wouldn't say the steering is tight at those speeds. Actually above 80 it feels too light. Not sure what it's called but I know with some cars the faster you go the tighter or heavier the steering will become, less subject to small movements in the steering wheel. Anyone else experience the same? Other than driving slower any ideas, seems doubtful there's a remedy.

Stock? I was not a fan of stock in that situation, sway or braking due to dive. Performance suspension greatly improves those dynamics and the resultant active safety of the situation.
LX's possess both bifurcation as well as slide-ability. Cruisers only bifurcation. I thought I'd miss the armrest on my LX but turns out the cooler cover doesn't make a bad replacement. If I felt spend, I'd maybe check and see if an LX sliding arm rest would drop in, assuming the price isn't too overly obnoxious. You're still looking at an upholstery mis-matchWait! To me, storage on my 200 is not as great as on my 100 (now taken over by
). The 100's space just under the cover is great, especially with the change tray removed. Plenty of room around the DVD player for a DVD cassette or two...not to mention a comfortable resting place for Samuel Colt. 
The 200 has a top tray that barely holds a 3-AA Maglite. It does have a ton of cubic inches in the cooler, but no organization features...kind of like a milk jug with the handle and spout removed. Lexus (and perhaps Toyota) do have a storage basket your can droop in the cooler...it's about half the height of the cooler and has a plastic bale handle. I fooled around with one on an '11 LX I was checking out prior to buying the Land Cruiser.

The steering technology is usually called "variable ratio steering"...I had it on a few leased Suburbans and it was great...I was under the impression that it was already an LX / LC feature.
GM used a speed sensor and a combination steering position and steering wheel turn rate to adjust the steering system, and it worked very well when it worked. It used a plastic potentiometer with carbon conductor to sense turn rate and position. The pot's wiper destroyed the carbon conductor around 70-80K. Once that happened, the failure mode consisted of massive correction at high speed with small steering inputs. You could be moved across 3 lanes of traffic trying to make a simple lane change. AMHIK

Well, the online brochure says it has VGRS. I'm not feeling it... I guess it's back to racecourse for more testing.

To me, the Cayenne is neither a great SUV nor a great sports car.
The LC? is an absolutely stellar SUV...that also happens to have a ton of power and speed for it's size and weight.
At least it's great at being an SUV.
Cayenne started out as a rebadged, souped up Volkswagen Taureg...which was already wildly overpriced even as a Volkswagen. -Not so sure it's great at anything except sporting a cool nameplate.
And that's my Grumpy-Old-Man 2 cents.

In a surprising twist...believe it or not...the US Land Cruiser 200 series is faster from 0-60MPH than the entry level Porsche 2016 Cayenne! The 2016 Porsche does it in 7.3 seconds. LC? 6.5.
This does not make the LC a sports car, but it does mean its no slouch.

SQOTD - what happens if you use 275/65/18 tires with a spare of OEM size 285/60 18 (Wouldn't be driving on the spare more than the distance needed to get to a tire shop, say 25 miles max) ? Probably about a 2% difference in circumference.
