i was wanting to make the entire trail as well, i had decided to cancel work and head up till i read the post about turning back.
the first part is mostly a very rough highway, once you head down washout hill then it gets... challenging.
it isn't my run so there is no way i was going to try and influence the run. better to bow out gracefully than pout like a baby.
Matt, i enjoy your company on the runs. you have a talent that is rare among the wheeling crowd. actually the whole group has a great wheeling personality.
rain never has bothered me, hell, if i can wheel in -25C with just a bikini top on the 70 what is a bit of warm spring rain (i do suspect you could end up with huge flakes of snow this weekend up there).

The main reason we said to wheel and turn is because we don't want to cross the private property at the end of the trail. We are still planning on wheeling a long way in, and running the trail backward to get out will seem like a totally different trail.

yes, if you make it down to almost the end and back in one day it will be a long hard crawl ... sounds like fun.
i was going to suggest wheel in to the rutted down hill friday night, that way saturday morning the s*** show could start while everyone is fresh.
i really wish i could make it, i will see by tonight how things are looking. maybe i will be able to work something out yet.

Base camp works out good for friday with people coming in at various times. That is why we want to get an early start Sat. morning. We are going to try and keep a decent pace and judge our turn around time based on conditions. I would like to plan another trip up when the weather is little nicer and do the camp on the trail thing Friday and Sat night.

i will be at the resturant at the end of horseshoe valley.
i will be there ABOUT 10 for a quick bite to eat if anyone wants to join me.

woah, lots a changing! lol. that's great fellas! so know what happens when you don't sleep for 7 weeks? you forget about a work banquet tomorrow night!!! i realized this early this week, i'm a turd. yep, making excuses. also just got a call from shipping, our jdm minivan just arrived and i gotta pick it up and get her on the road.
i've read the tentative plans, if i can get a ride out early saturday morning, i can meet ya'lls at base camp before rolling out, and cuz the 40 isn't ready, i'll ride biotch with any of ya'lls and help with the s*** show recovery and ready to get dirty. might be able to borrow my buddy's X terra to get up there, who knows (or if i can drag john along). i'm hoping i can get the delica plated tomorrow, that way wifey has it and i can take the 80 up. fingers crossed... cuttin it close.

Matt, thanks bud, i called you back and left a message. my other option would've been to help niel drive up in the bj70, ya'll heard from him yet?
btw, now that that last bit is private property, does that mean then that the southtrail will always be a turn back around? the other road off to the left is private too? i just remember seeing a big topo map of the area on the first s*** show run and noticing 2 exit points, one longer, one shorter, the longer ending up at the hydro construction and the other we never saw (or could find) or tried??

some one please post pictures when you get back, be nice to see some toy rigs on the trails. might get my ass in gear and get threw my project 40
