Anyone know where I can get this rubber boot for the high/low shift rod, or an incredibly life-like facsimile?

So I wonder if I’m screwed. Toyotapartsdeal.com shows 33765-35010 in stock, $1.19. Ordered 10. Sale went through. On digital receipt it shows that 33765-35010 is replaced by 33765-35011. So when I search on that it shows discontinued part, no longer for sale. We’ll see what happens, but I should know better than to venture into unknown outfits like this.

Got the OEM part number from one I had on hand, so it’s real. The McMaster Carr lookalikes are dimensionally too far off, and the Seals-it variants all look to have three holes, only two needed. I guess the third backside hole could be filled with FIPG once the control rod joint was installed. The complete assembly mentioned above, at $16.99 a pop is out of bounds for me even if available (not sure), I’m missing 10 boots including the column tranny shift rod boots. This comes to mind:

Subscribed. I don’t have an answer for you, but I’ve occasionally wondered if the right angle boots on the dizzy end of a spark plug wire could be made to serve this purpose .

I order from toyotapartsdeal.com all the time with no problems. On my last order their website showed the FJ40 jump seat straps still available when I placed my order. Before they charged my account they sent me an e-mail with a modified order. I think the straps have just recently been discontinued. Received the rest of the order in six or seven days.

Just heard from TPD.com. Boots discontinued, not available. Order voided. Camelback Toyota also concurs. Looks like Nancy and those boots just kept walking.

So, good idea Mark on the angled spark plug wire caps. I’ll scrounge around my junk box and see if that’s a workable solution. I wonder how hard it is to just buy those boots if so, otherwise I’ll have 10 junk coil-to-dizzy wires in my junk box, lol. I might also try using 3/4 ID shrink tubing with some trimming. But at least I’ll have the CV Boot Installation RERSTOOL I ordered in my impatience. Maybe a little more research into the seals-it boots.

Going to try these with a little soap and my new tool.

Of course I’ll ignore the warning since I’m not a California resident lol.

The Midwest Control Products RFS-6 boots work pretty well, not as heavy rubber as OEM boots and a tad big in the J dimension but good fit in G and P dimensions. Install on rods is easy especially with Seals-It tool and a little silicone spray before sliding on. Also injected grease in joint before sliding boot on. Should work, we’ll see.
