Is anyone using the 38x14.50x16 Toyo Open Country MT's tires? If so, how have 16" wheels worked out? I've heard that 16" wheels don't hold the bead as well as 15" or 17" wheels when aired down due to a "lip" issue. Any comments for or against using 16" wheels?

Thanks

is the lip different in the 16?

think it would be the same, should have no prob

you may be thinking of 16.5 wheels . 16" has the same lip as 15 and 17" Dean

He's only the janitor at a tire shop, wouldn't trust 'im :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I think the 16.5 wheel is a P-metric type of wheel. I don;t know why but my buddy bought a set for his Heep (any wonder?). I dont think there is much of a tire selection for p-metric yet.

As far as fit I ran 16x8 MT classic's on my 40 with 285x75's--(I think those are the tire size) an I think there are great as far as clearance for tre's and stuff. I don;t think your gonna have air-down issues at all. Maybe with much taller wheels...??? sizes alvailable for 15" are getting tougher to find and will be harder in the future as "I've been told"
