Hi guys, I have a 1992 model LJ79 Prado. Basically, I bought it gutted. No stereo, no speakers. everything is needed from scratch. its a 2lt version with a boxy shape dashboard.

Can someone guide me on the wiring I need to do for installing an Android stereo, dash speakers and other things?

Also, the reverse lamp is not working. Checked the fuse, it is okay as the tail and brake lights are working.

New here with zero electrical and component knowledge, so I need help.

@LJ79Noob , the good news is, on your radio wiring question, Toyota wire colors are pretty standard throughout models. Just do an internet search on 1992 Toyota truck radio wire color codes and you will have all the info you need. I’m fairly sure, an early 1990s Camery or Corolla would have the same wire scheme as well. (Don’t hold me to it though) Additionally, both single DIN and Double DIN mounting options are available new from Toyota.

On the Reverse Lamp, just buy a new one. They are cheap.

On my LJ the reverse light switch on the gearbox was broken.
thanks bro. Yes, mine was broken and was faulty, I have replaced it a couple of times, and this is the 3rd time it went out all of a sudden. where is the location of this switch as the electricians are too secretive about sharing this information :D

If you get under your truck and hug the transmission, you should find it on the top if I’m not mistaken. Regardless, gives you a chance to hug it out with you Land Cruiser :)

lol. bro, I hug it every day. but she hates me. Sometimes she hates me by giving blow by (since my rig has a 2lt setup from its previous owner, who swapped out 3l with 2lt), sometimes some of its lights work and other times they don't. So yes, I will be doing it on the weekend.

If you still have any factory wires, this adapter is useful.
metra
no, it has nothing. No wiring harness, no previous wires. it looks like someone ripped it out completely. So, we will need to do a complete wiring setup, including installing brand-new speakers in the dashboard. I tried to do that, but I got confused and scared, and I stopped. :D
