I don't believe it is vacuum advanced. How can I tell?
This might be the way to go

Surely it is, since its not computer controlled yet. Vacuum advance will have this vacuum port hanging off the side...

Well I guess I should start looking for a oil pan to fix the oil leak!

The AFI will work with a header? And I have a aftermarket fuel pump and a pressure regulator would that stay or go?

Works great with headers. Electric fuel pump? That's what it requires. You'll ditch the regulator. The TBI has its own.

What about the gas pedal does it change out too?

I ran a cable to my stock pedal.

Mine does not have that on it. So I guess I might have the required dizzy. I also have a extra pedal and a throttle cable kit that I tried to make work with the Weber. Didn't work but it should for this.
This is getting better and better

Glad I know the "Carb Whisperer". My Weber has run fine for 12 years. Maybe I am lucky...

You are very lucky indeed! Mine is kinda a hodge podge of different stuff....

It's a Spectre Intake Plenum. I got that plus an elbow and a filter from a guy on ebay that sells factory rejects.

If you want to go the junkyard route, google 'caddy tbi hat' for a similar simple setup. Or you could run the round open element. I've also got an adapter to run the factory late-2F air filter. I took that off to get all that stuff off the valve cover and simplify things. I've also sucked in water from the factory inlet location, so I wanted to move it to higher ground (probably not an issue for you.)

get it Boy!!!

Got the AFI kit today. Going to take the distributor to performance in Memphis in the morning to get 7 pin done. Have to get gasket to mount to intake. Have to source a four barrel air cleaner. That's the short list. Also putting a header on, so the exhaust is going to need some attention.

Started with taking manifold off to address exhaust leak and to put header on. Distributor out. Wiring ran through fire wall. It's going to take a little while because garage time will be limited for the next couple of weeks. I am sure I will be axin some questions along the way so Gurus stand by:)

Let me know if you find a good exhaust guy in this town....my truck needs some attention also.

A guy in Hernando is who I use. Don't know his name but he's fixed the 80 on every return trip from superlift:). Pretty cheap too.

I've got a stock 60 air cleaner and the adapter to to run if if you're interested in it.

I might take you up on that. If not the guy told me a flat bottom, four barrel carb air cleaner will fit.

Got some unexpected cruiser time this afternoon. Header & intake on. Had to shave a little bit on two flanges on intake to get it to fit. How far from the edge of the oil pan is the header suppose to be? Mine is about 1/2 inch off the top edge of the oil pan. Is that OK?
Spacer and TBI on. Had to shorten one bolt that holds the spacer to the intake. Other than that went pretty smooth. I hope to get the distributor back tomorrow.

Header serves as an oil heater. Ha. I'd have to look at my spacing. I have a similar header. Chrome version of course!
