When I went to put my chain cover back on my 22r my chain cover bolts decided to up and walk away...:D I know right. I honestly think my piece of s*** brother took them somehow to sabotage my build but anyway.... I need a diagram or chart to show what bolt goes where. I already have them all on order from toyota, however, I would love a schematic, homemade works

OK........

Nice, got one for the 3.0 oil pump? Course I lost my own bolts. Wish the FSM was more specific than "replace 7 bolts"

Awesome stuff man but how do I decipher the numbers for the correct bolts. Unless those are toyota part numbers or something... Thanks man!

Of course they are Toyota part numbers. Google "toyota parts", choose any of a number of websites that let you search by part number, put the part number into their search window, hit enter, and read the description.

Of course you could also just look at the part number(s) on the bag(s) of bolts that you are getting from Toyota and match them to the numbers on the diagram. Sometimes this doesn't work and you will have to revert to plan A (above) because old part numbers get superseded.

Good luck.

Quick question on the timing cover picture with the bolt part numbers. I was looking at that a long time ago and could not figure out the difference with the two diagrams...the (-8408) and the (8408-) mean what?

Also, a screen print would be helpful for future reference.

Those are year & month of production. Month 08 is the cutoff for the year designation, I believe that is an industry standard. So, the diagram on the left is for 22R-series engines up to and including those manufactured in Aug 1984. The diagram on the right is for the engines manufactured after Aug 1984.

Makes perfect sense now...thanks.
