this is sick! I stand in awe of your skills, bravo! and thanks for shareing, I've spent hours reading and drooling!
Thanks again

I did not know you could run tundra rotors and calipers with that kit, that is awesome. A great reason to move from 15" wheels to 17" wheels.

Bad A$$!!!!

Already have a new 80 series MC from Marlin Crawler on the way.

Nice I already have one in my 60 ..

Would be nice ( for lazy fellas like me ) if you put a list of parts needed to make the swap / upgrade posible .. ;)

The Front Range Off Road bracket was made to adapt the Taco rotors and calipers.
I went larger and went with the later Tundra stuff (03-06)
Parts required:
86-95 IFS wheel bearing hubs, OD must be turned down a touch to 6.680"
Tundra front rotors, i ordered 06 units although i think the rotors are all the same.
There are two styles of calipers, the earlier smaller 199mm units casting # 13WE and the later upgraded and larger 231mm casting #13WL.
The Tundras appear to have had a brake problem in that the rotors would heat up and warp.
There is/was a TSB and thus the upgraded, larger caliper.
On the landCruiser i doubt that the smaller, earlier caliper would pose a problem, i went with the larger due to the 42s i am running.
Rim size and interference you can figure out for your self but with the smaller calipers 15's may fit with either the right spacer or the right offset.
I can get my 15"s to fit with the large calipers but only with a 4" back space and a 2" spacer, and then JUST.
The 4 runner hub change alone will widen the track width by 3.25".
I did not look into the Taco brakes so i don't know about what year Taco parts to use or what wheels will fit but the hub parts remain the same.
Knuckles need to be switched side to side, placing the caliper ears forward or the ears removed completely.
I chopped mine off, but i have the SixShooters and they have front and rear mounting ears.

There are some added benefits to the swap in that the birfs can be pulled without touching the wheel bearings.
Calipers are also now floating and can be swapped out with only a wheel and caliper removal.

No, the IFS hub is required for the upgrade.
The rotor goes from a bolt on to the rear of the bearing hub, to a floating rotor in front of the hub.
I will shoot some pics. Hang on a spell.

OK here are some pics, just keep in mind that the length of both wheel bearing hub bodies are the same, the only dimension of any significance that really changes is where the wheel bolts to.

Hope the pics help.

Doesn't make a difference until you have to change the rotor, then floating is a dream.

I didn't even think of that. Another reason why this is the way to go:cool:

Super sick

The Tundras appear to have had a brake problem in that the rotors would heat up and warp.

I can verify that. I did the upgrade on my 04 Taco, used the LC Engineering upgrade kit. My Taco also weighed almost exactly the same as my FJ60. Taco was 5100lbs and FJ60 is 5200lbs.

I put the kit on, got it dialed in and hit the road for Panama. About 3,000 miles later I started having bad vibrations while braking. Sure enough rotors had warped. I also had a damn hard time keeping the rear brakes correctly adjusted after the upgrade and I never had problems with that before. I did the upgrade because I had new stock brakes and smoked them in about 6,000miles on my 1st road trip to Panama. That and obviously my Taco was very heavy.

It sounds like you have done your homework though and got it worked out.

Question: are you considering a rear disc conversion? I have stock brakes on my FJ60 but I plan to pack it up in the future (6,000+lbs) and hit the road for Panama. My stock brakes seem ok around town but I imagine when fully loaded I won't be to stoked. On Mountain passes I have noticed my brakes in the FJ60 to not be excatly as good as I would like. You need to be able to stop fast down south sometimes! That and there are many mountians to navigate. So, I was thinking front upgrade but also a rear disc conversion, hence the question.

Rear was done before the front, used 80 series spindles and disk brakes on a 60 series housing.
