Very solid 1965 Fj45 lpb still wearing its original spring green paint. This is a great start for a patina build or full frame off resto. 97% complete with all the hard to find bits accounted for. Complete uncut dash with all knobs, switches, mirror, wiper motors, sun visor, all j hooks intact, roof latches, dome light, bug catcher latches and knobs, elephant horns, horn relay, headache rack, column shift linkage, vacuum 4wd. I have all the glass front, rear, corner glass, bug catcher, drivers window has a bullet hole) this truck has been sitting for 20 plus years in the dry California valley and is pretty much rust free, floors are great, roof has a little filler but is solid on the inside with just a little rust through at the pass gutter( 4 inches)otherwise very solid, cab is great, only a little rocker damage and the lower rear bulkhead behind the seats has minor rust. Bed is solid with the typical surface rust on the bed floor, a little crusty in some areas but no holes. Only missing items are the rear tail lights, front turn lenses, rear drive shaft, carb, dist, air cleaner, pass seat back( has the correct hard to find lower seat frame) It has an f engine with a later head, factory 3 spd, with column shift top plate. Engine spins free but would consider a core as I have no history of it running. These are getting hard to find with original paint and drivetrain and is a great candidate for full frame off resto. I have 4 fj45's and just can't keep them all. Located in NorCal California. Sold with bill of sale, as it has been out of the dmv system for many years. Matching frame and vin tag numbers so just needs to be verified. Hope it goes to a mudder! Asking 12k

He bought my 65 fj45 last year in the same color and told me he was restoring it for his personal collection. As soon as I got paid he goes I'm going to just fix it up and sell it for 60k.

My bet is he needed some parts and is going to offload it with a few less and keep what was needed.

looks like it didnt sell first time around and theres a new listing at $5100 and climbing

1965 Toyota Land Cruiser | eBay

He actually has a big shop with employees and a lot of cruisers and different Offroad rigs. Nice guy and its a free world so he can do what he wants with it. Just too bad the price goes up and out of reach for a lot of folks who want to get a 45 at a reasonable price.
Yea he has a bunch out there. He was easy to deal with and has some really nice rigs in the enclosed garage. Hoping I can get my hands on another 45 again before I can't afford one

Hello,
I am new to these forums, and registered when I saw this post. I saw this exact car listed for sale on a website recently, and have entered into negotiations for it's purchase (we will call this "Seller A"). Doing some digging, I found this same car listed for sale on multiple sites, many of which didn't list the ad post date. I thought maybe this car had been bought and sold a few times recently, so that may explain the multiple ads. There were at least 2 different sellers on these various sites, one of which I am in negotiations with currently (Seller A). Seeing there was more than one seller, I contacted the other seller who I am not in negotiations with ("Seller B"). It turns out, both Seller A and Seller B claim to be in possession of the car.

From what I can gather, this post here on IH8MUD seems to be the original legit ad. It's mentioned in this post that the car went to Texas, and Seller B is in Texas. Seller B claims to still have the car (and it isn't for sale), but he didn't seem to be exactly sure which car I was referring to, and English did not appear to be his primary language.

I am new to buying cars over the internet, and I am not sure who to believe here, or if this is all just a big misunderstanding. I was wondering if anyone happens to have a known sales time line for this particular car, and where it ended up. Seller B is in Texas, as mentioned, and Seller A is in Arizona.

Any other tips or advice you could give me concerning this would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize for a thread necro. I just didn't know where else to go to get further information on this exact car, and I don't want to send money when I am not sure if the sale is legit.

Thanks,
Rae

Rae, I can answer all your questions. I sold it a few months ago to the guy in Texas. He said he was going to restore it, but he listed it for sale a few days later and $5000 more than he paid for it! It was on eBay but didn't sell, then mr Greg Mushro (vintageoffroad) google him and never buy from him!! He lists the trucks on his website and uses the same pictures from the web. It is in Texas but Greg is selling for him and probably gets a premium. My opinion, move on , you don't want to deal with this crook!

Oh and welcome to mud!

Whitey45,
Thanks so much for your response. It was very helpful, and seems to match up with what timelines I have found, or at least some of it. I had already come across the expired ebay listing, and when I found this post, I figured the ebay seller was probably the person that bought it from you. What happened after that is still unclear.

After I made my first post here, I got in contact with Seller A, who says he purchased that truck but he is not yet in actual possession of it. I had called Seller B earlier today to see what was going on, and told him of the site that had it listed for sale. Apparently Seller B called Seller A, and there appears to be some....confusion.... as to who actually owns the truck. Seller B had told me that he had the truck, was in the process of restoring it and had already put a good deal of money in to it, and it wasn't for sale at this time. Seller A is now trying to figure out what the deal is and will get back with me.

I am not sure how all this is going to end up, but I appreciate your information and I also appreciate your concern. I just don't seem to have much luck with getting ahold of one of these. I can't afford a restored one, and it seems the unrestored ones are getting harder to find. If this one doesn't work out, I guess I will have to keep looking.

Thanks so much for your time!
Rae
