Here is the one I used and works perfectly. This has end to end and center hole to center hole. I was already gone when I saw mm, but here it is in inches.

Can anyone tell me exactly where I need to drill the hole? Since I don't have a template, how can I find my bearings?

black, you want to give the strut room so it doesn't bind when you close it.

just an update on this kit.

The template is now stainless steel and used as a washer. Also I dont lathe the stud any more.

Anyone know of an alternative cable that is less bulky? The one that came in the kit is just too bulky for the tailgate to close properly. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled many times with different washers and spacers trying to get it to work. There just isn’t enough room for that bulky cable and the strut.
