Hello,
I originally posted in mud for my initial newbie post. I have a 1994 LC factory locked, 863 J OME 3" lift, DBA 4000 slotted rotors, 295/75 BFG A/T, ARB front, Kaymar rear w/ tire swing and a safari snorkel. I would consider this my family adventure vehicle but yet to find any adventure lately. Two kids, a wife and a toy yorkie is the family and they all enjoy four wheeling. I am initially from Pueblo, CO but now reside in San Diego and due to some new news am moving to Yokosuka, Japan for three years. My first name is Vince and I would love to someday drop a duramax into the LC but that is in the distant future, just thinking it would make it the ultimate vehicle. I just recently took off the running boards so the pics are not to up to date. Enjoy

When I asked the question on mud Irbis replied to me and said it is possible just need to modify the floor or do a body lift so the allison could fit. He also mentioned that it would cost a lot. As of now I am moving to Japan.

Nice rig. Welcome.

Now, when are you leaving? :hillbilly:

Hopefully you can get out with us before you're gone (when it cools the freak off!).

Welcome

Welcome Vince,

too bad you're leaving. It would have been nice to wheel with you.

Any idea when you're leaving?

Welcome, and good bye! ;p Nice Cruiser and glad to have you for awhile. Hope you can make a run before you go.

Good News

Don't have to go to Japan after all. Only after some negotiation I now am going to be able to pick my next location. SO who is setting up the next trip? MONEY!!!!!:D

I'll join you guys one day, when I get my F.O.R. lift and some new shoes.

You honestly don't have to wait that long. I waited till' I got the new shoes which took me a 4-5 months and then I was fully on the trails. I too plan on getting the FOR lift but I am going to get my sliders first since I already dinged a rocker out at Sand Stone Canyon.

You don't need it for this trip. I am still almost bone stock, except I removed my running boards and put on some 33" tires.

Even stock, the 80s are very capable vehicles. I agree, lift and sliders are very nice and on my list, but don't let that stop you from getting out and exploring.

I am trying to stick around this area. With the family and the little one starting school it will be much easier than shipping us around the globe.

Mark, Eric,

I need to get some baselining and PM's taken care of first. When I bought my rig at the beginning of this summer, I literally when on 2 month long road trip. 10,000 miles. In between I managed to get some work done on the 80, but since the P.O. had taken care of it so well, I simply just put gas in her and drove.

My tires (Michelin AT's) also are fairly new, so I'm sort of waiting until they wear down.

Mark, PM me when you're about ready for the F.O.R. lift. Once I get my birfs, belts and u-joints done, I'll be getting the lift. We can put them on together.
