My buddy asked me to keep an eye out for a dune beige turnkey 40. When I found this I told him here it is, stop looking.

Let’s see how serious he is.

Would you be confident in it making the drive to central Texas?
Yes. Probably less than 2k on the clock since I did the 2200 miles from Denver to the Black Hills, then back to CA.

Please also tell your buddy that at this point the price is non-negotiable. I actually decided about 3 weeks ago to raise the price; I just didn’t get to it yet. If that’s a deal killer for him, better to know now.

There is no way anyone could buy a FJ40 in any kind of reasonable condition and build it up to this level of mechanical condition for $25000.00. This is no doubt a rare bargain in todays market.

Truck now has a freshly rebuilt non-US carb, a refurbished wiper motor assembly, and another 10 hours of detailing. Price adjusted accordingly.😉

Still a crazy bargain. People will pay that same money for a shiny rig with unknown mechanics and tinker for years getting the mechanics right.

New battery and some under hood detailing.😉

I have tried to pawn this truck off to two worthy buyers… life in both circumstances got in the way.

I’ll keep trying.

I have two current customers who both wish that they knew about this rig before they bought theirs. Both were at the 20k mark, and both need a lot of work.

As for the rest, the world will never suffer a shortage of short-sighted people.🤷🏻‍♂️

I am just back from four wheeling the truck in Death Valley, and have posted a story about the adventure in my warehouse fire thread. Long story short, I enjoyed using the truck again SO much, and in it’s current state of tune, that I’m taking it off the market!

Finally got around to fixing the pesky steering box leak, along with making up a new fuel line to the carburetor, and several hours of deferred detailing . Looking forward to putting it through its paces again shortly 😊
