awww sookie sookie now. Making it more aero-dynamic now that you have the blower...you bad ass you...or are you replacing them with carbon fiber flares and pursuing a ricer look?

So, what are you gonna do? Repaint? Rhino Line? What color? How? Why?

Keep us posted. 'Cause I think I might be next.

Looks Good!

I am in the process of removing my flares and painting my rig white as well.

I went the "Insanely Involved But Best Results" route and welded little plugs into the holes, sanded them, primed and painted them! Coming out awesome but taking insane amounts of time!

Here are some pics:

Kevin, i think you get a award for the most 'insane' words in one post.

2? :flipoff2:

I thought you were painting that thing in a booth?

I am doing the body in a booth, the jams are MUCH more time consuming and use a completely different gun and we can do them fine in my driveway.

It's about time you posted some pics Kevin! Start a thread so we can see more. Is there still time to go Fire Engine Red! :flipoff2:

There will be a VERY detailed story/write of this makeover

Stay Tuned!

So Boyd are you using Durabak?

I have convinced my buddy to do this to his Tundra and I have convinced myself to do it now that I have found Dark Gray on the Durabak site. Gotta keep my two tone and black and Desert Dune just don't do it for me.

Flare removal?

Well,

After CruiseMoab my front left flare was really loose and flopping around a bit (NOT MY FAULT - PO did a lousy repair).

I pulled it off to check the status and Cindy suggested it might look cool without flares (she saw a whole bunch of flareless trucks at CM07); so I pulled the rears to get a good idea of how it would look.

I really like the flareless look, but the two tone look, not so much. I'm torn.
I'm also a little concerned

I would leave the flares off if I had the time and skills to go insane like Mangler.

BTW - Mangler, where are you going to break the paint line on the rear corners, or are you painting the entire roof?

So; for now, repaint (white) and reinstall. My OCD took over and I'll be painting the front fender as soon as I have time to fix the PO's repair.

The flares are all shiny pristine white just waiting to go back on. They actually turned out so well that I'm going to do the passenger (dorked them when I got stuck on a rock - did I ever tell you guys about the time I got stuck on a rock??) side as time permits.

If I can't keep the OCD in check, I'll have painted the whole truck by the end of summer:rolleyes:

Huh? The entire truck is being painted white. We are just painting the doorjams now because it will make the final spray a lot easier.

The paint lines you see now will be sanded smooth and it will all blend together.

Uhhh, i think silver is light enough! :flipoff2:

I get it now, I thought that was primer. What paint and how many gallons do you plan on using? Are you gonna clearcoat?

Welcome to the JAFW80 world! :flipoff2:

Don't let anyone mess with you, everyone knows white is the best color!
