Just reviving this in case someone decides to get one. So far this winter the snorkel has seen temperatures from -40c to 15c and more and no cracks or absolutely any problem. Still waiting to see how its going to be over the summer time with the sun and almost 30c degrees but so far so good
 
I'm going to try the Snorkel from Rahoo. For the money I dont mind cutting my fender. I will try to contact them to ordr and keep everyone posted.

I have not been very successful... I finally got a shipping quote almost a month after my original e-mail. They wanted something like 175$ and guaranteed it would be there within the week. I replied to please put it on the slow boat and give me the lowest possible shipping cost, regardless of transit time. They never replied.

If you are interested in ordering multiple items Ill kick in on the shipping.....
 
I will email them tonight. I know someone who is traveling to China may try to work that too. I would like to see what it cost to ship a roof top tent as well. :hhmm:

Not likely. They lower the price to increase sales and raise the shipping costs to make up for it.

I've asked several other vendors about discounted shipping in cases like this, and it's always the same answer.
 
Nevermind. I just ordered the eBay jdm-motorparts snorkel for $155.90. Will let you know how it goes, but I don't expect any problems. I still have plenty of Herculiner and their UV Topcoat liquid. I'll probably just cover this snorkel in UV Topcoat for protection. Might put the bedliner on it. Not sure yet. Might use the bedliner liquid but minimize the texture by stirring up the gallon but letting the stuff settle down some.

I've given the various issues and risks involved a lot of thought. This is just one of those cases where I'm going to roll the dice. I do and will continue to support vendors, especially when they offer unique products and services for the 80. However, I don't believe this is anything but a Safari snorkel which is run through the manufacturing machine with the logo imprinting function turned off and the price is good enough to overcome my resistance.

Today is the 11th. It says it's coming FedEx from Malaysia and will be here between the 15th and 19th.

Let me know how it goes installing it. I may do the eBay one as well the I have not gotten an email back from the people at Rahoo.

+ $100 shipping. They have two eBay listings. The lesser one is $155.90 total for the same thing.

Ha ha, I thought it was familiar but I hadn't seen that pic in a long time.

Hmm... Well...

I'll just keep people informed about my experience and let them make their own decisions. Maybe some interesting legal revelation is yet to come with these snorkels.

So, it took about 5 days to get here and I ordered on a weekend. I'll post pics of the box and parts now.
